This might just be one of the best Omakase experiences in the GTA. From the moment you sit down, you know you are in for something special. The place is small and cozy and not at all pretentious. Chef Mitsuhiro Kaji oversees the whole operation and you see him at work right in front of you, which is a treat to observe. And the food is out of this world! The fish which is both local and from Japan, is exceptionally fresh and delicate. There is a unique variety as well, great for anyone adventurous who wants to explore beyond the typical sushi options.
All in all, I would highly recommend this restaurant. While the price is high, it is much more reasonable than the comparable Omakase places in Toronto. If you want to treat yourself, definitely give Sushi Kaji a try.

Absolutely amazing! The place doesn't look like much from the outside, but the experience and food quality is incredible. Can't wait to come back here! Portions are small but there's a lot of them so it's definitely worth the price. Each dish has a very unique flavor and the staff come over to explain each one in detail. I was very excited to try Sushi Kaji as it was one of the original omakase in Toronto, it set the foundation for omakase in the city. Overall the food quality and variety was excellent with very friendly staff. Would highly recommend.

What an incredible experience, watching Chef Kaji and his staff pay meticulous attention to detail and flavour pairings. We sat at the counter for a birthday celebration. Fish was fresh, delicious and the service felt elevated.
Every time is better than the last. The food is heavenly. The warm welcome from everyone makes us feel like family. And the whole experience is amazing!

Dining at Kaji Japanese Cuisine was an absolute culinary delight that left us in awe. The sushi was simply incredible, with each dish presented so beautifully that you could truly feel the years of dedication and passion that every team member brings to their craft.
The space itself is quite unassuming, with limited seating, but this only adds to the charm. The staff-to-client ratio is something I’ve rarely seen, ensuring every guest receives an exceptional level of attention and care. We were fortunate to have a table this time, but we’ll definitely be back with the hope of experiencing the magic up close at the sushi bar.
The entire staff was professional and focused, exuding a seriousness that spoke to their commitment to excellence. However, as the night drew to a close, we asked to take a photo with the main chef, who we suspect may also be the owner. This was the perfect finishing touch to our evening—just as we settled into position, he surprised us with a hilarious move that we are all still laughing about. It was a memorable moment that added a layer of warmth and personality to the experience.
Kaji is an unforgettable experience in both flavor and ambiance, and we can’t wait to return! Highly recommended for anyone seeking authentic Japanese cuisine delivered with heart and artistry.

Amazing. I had been some 6 years ago, and it's always memorable. Sushi so fresh and savory that it melts in your mouth. Should be a higher name for this than sushi. Sure you've had sushi, but this is something else for sure.
