Dinner rush starts at 5pm and not all staff show up on time. They do pick up the pace once every one shows up

The sushi is always incredibly fresh and the rolls are beautifully prepared. Every visit feels like a treat. A special shoutout to Heidi!! She’s the best! Friendly, attentive, and always makes the experience even better. Highly recommend this place to anyone who loves great sushi and warm service!

I recently visited Sushi Ya Japan with a friend, and unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing. We were seated near the exit despite other available seats, which felt uncomfortable. Additionally, the server asked about splitting the bill before we even placed our order, which was quite strange and made us feel singled out. The food also caused stomach issues, and we left feeling quite unwell. This experience has made us feel like there may be some racial profiling involved, and we strongly feel that others should be aware of this. We hope the restaurant can address these issues for the future.

Sushi was decent, but not as amazing as I had hoped. But service and atmosphere was amazing. Liked all the sushi except the Tuna roll.

Sushi-Ya Japan is such a great spot! It’s a small place but the food is fresh and delicious, and the service is fantastic. Prices are very reasonable, and they’re super quick with orders. Plus, there’s plenty of parking at the back and side of the building, which makes it really convenient.

Overall satisfying and measured up to my expectations. The place was small and depending what time you go, service may be slow. There's not a lot of staff. Reservations are recommended as this place is small. Good was very well made. But we didn't read carefully and the Green Dragon roll did not have the standard crab in it. Instead it has Eel which was great for me, but unexpected and unwanted by my kids. Also, they offered stream hot towels at the beginning to make sure you're clean for eating! Overall I would return. Recommend.

During my layover in Toronto, I met up with a friend for lunch. We originally planned to go to a specific restaurant, but it turned out to be closed on Mondays. So we had to look for another place last minute.

We found a restaurant online and decided to try it, partly because there was a Japanese-looking person in one of the photos, which gave us some hope for authenticity. The place had an old-school feel and seemed like it had been around for a while. Prices were reasonable, and the food was actually quite good.
However, the server was quite rushed and made us feel pressured several times throughout the meal. Even though the restaurant wasn’t full, we never really got a chance to relax. At one point, I even wondered if they were about to close — but that wasn’t the case.

It was quite disappointing, especially since the food itself was good.

If you’re looking for the best sushi in town, look no further. This place is an absolute gem. Every roll is beautifully prepared, incredibly fresh, and packed with flavor. Whether you’re ordering a simple salmon nigiri or an elaborate specialty roll, the quality is always top-notch.

The fish melts in your mouth, the rice is perfectly seasoned, and the presentation is spot-on. You can tell the chefs take real pride in their craft. The menu has a great mix of classic options and creative twists, so there’s something for everyone.

The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, and the service is consistently friendly and attentive. They make you feel welcome whether you’re a regular or it’s your first visit.

Hands down, this is my go-to spot for sushi. Highly recommend to anyone who appreciates fresh, authentic Japanese cuisine!

Everythis is very good quality ! The food is amazing and fresh .Important details for me are special, like drinking Japanese tea with filtered water in a suitable cup that is suitable for serving, makes all the difference. It is a huge respect for the customer. Congratulations.!!! Domo arigatou
