It's a shame I had only one lunch here!! All I can say It was divine!! The staff, every one of them, were all diligent, great teamwork!!
The Humber Room staff (Humber culinary and hospitality students) all show their determination and professionalism in their workplace.
I'd definitely come back if I visit Toronto again in the future.
P.S. I took some pics in 2013 when there was a chocolate competition. Please đ, don't take them down.

Foods are excellent but service was poor, donât understand English and charge me for water $4 top water.
I have had an amazing experience every time I have visited! Delicious food, very kind service. I would say food 10/10
I had a disappointing experience at The Humber Room. While our server was kind and did their best, the overall experience fell short. The front-line instructor lacked leadership and wasnât able to properly manage the students. For a learning environment, youâd expect better guidance and professionalism. The food was mediocre â they need to quality check each dish that goes out because I found a hair and rotten vegetables in my dish. When I raised this with the instructor, they responded with, âThe chef is the king, I canât do anything about it,â which is unacceptable and a poor example to set for students. They need to step up and hire instructors who genuinely care about the culinary and hospitality industry.
I understand that this is a student learning program first, but the lack of leadership from both the head chef and the front-of-house professor was disappointing. They seemed to lack both confidence and a strong presence in guiding the students. The food served included a rotten tomato in one dish and a hair in anotherâclear violations of basic food safety standards. This is unacceptable, especially in a teaching environment. If Humber truly wants to prepare students for the real world, addressing these issuesâstarting with stronger leadershipâshould be a priority aka fire the 2 professors
Great food for the price.

Came in today and was underwhelmed. The bacon scallop appetizers were amazing except the squash mash sauce couldâve been warmer, I think the entree & dessert couldâve been more seasoned or had more richness since it tasted bland.
The students were nice but wish they could have more enthusiasm since I had a hard time hearing whatâs going on.
This may sound harsh but I noticed that it was fairly chaotic and their manager/teacher seemed really mean towards the servers/students. The students/servers also seemed like they barely had an idea of whatâs going on or their roles. The place was really disorganized and the music playing was too loud and the room started smelling like B.O. . Not a great atmosphere for a restaurant.
I understand this is a learning experience for the students but I fear that theyâre not having the greatest mentors or education. They really need to get it together.

Honestly overall, I was really pleasantly surprised by the experience here! The food was great and especially for the price. One thing is that the service is lacking and if there's one thing to be ironed out it's definitely that, but I also understand that it's a training restaurant so hiccups are to be expected. But I would actually come back here again!

If there was a choice to put negative stars, I would. This was the absolute pinnacle of terrible customer service and terrible food. None of the associates knew how to speak English, which caused many problems, and what we were looking for was not there at all.
Never attend this establishment as itâs not worth it and these people I feel very sorry for them as their paying for this learning experience but theyâre being moulded into the worst possible service and not very good. Chefs of the food was terrible as well. We got served raw duck, as well as a bland, cold TANDOORI burger, and the tacos were stale and raw as well. My tiramisu was OILY and my âcocktailsâ had no alcohol in them.

often time the services could be suck, the waiters or waitresses could be ignorant of what they are doing.

Food was excellent. Great way to showcase the Chef de Cuisine program and studentsâ cooking skills. Service was poor. Service teacher does not train them nor organize the floor and service in a cogent way for the students to take food orders and serve drinks in a coherent manner. There are many student servers on the dining floor just waiting and watching.I ordered a steak medium rare and the foreign student server didnât know what I was talking about. The same happened to the next table in our group and the chef was called out to talk to the patrons just because their server did not understand medium rare. I donât even know if mine was medium rare. When it was served to me I was told it was medium and the chef said it was my brother who only got a medium rare.I can hardly believe that these students are paying for their serversâ diploma. There should be one person serving water to know who was served and get it all done. It was 3 different people serving water at different times to 3 different individuals at my table. It wasnât till much later that they decided to give us a karafe. Surely one can teach better than that, especially at the foreignersâ rate. The one giving instructions was doing so, loudly. It wouldnât matter as much if the service was good but it wasnât. You could tell that the good intentions were there but the training and proper instruction wasnât.They should also be taught how to respond politely. My nephew was offered a cocktail or soft drink, so he asked if there was an extra charge for the cocktails because it wasnât indicated on the menu. The server said âOf course, thereâs a chargeâ. Rude! And she didnât even know it. I donât know how they can offer a diploma unless marking is based on theory and not practical experience which is not what service is.

Our group had a great experience here as we celebrated our final day of school! The students were so courteous and attentive. The food selections were delicious. I wish they served alcohol instead of mocktails though. I had the $5 grilled octopus, $12 smash burger, and the $4 mocktail. Thereâs a miami key lime pie in the photos I posted (didnt taste it as I was so full already). Iâd love to come back again! It was just too bad that I only discovered this two days ago. Kudos to the students!
