This place used to be very good, as of this year the quality of the food was horrible. The rice and jerk chicken was old. Since then i had a few people in the last few days tell me the same thing.

Similar to some people here I expected the quality to be similar to the Tropical Joes by Gerard Square and there’s no comparison and by looking at the reviews it’s clear with the other tropical joes at a 4.7 rating. Chicken did not taste like jerk and the gravy was flavorless. Not Caribbean food at all. Chicken also tastes kinda funky so not sure if it’s fresh or if it’s whatever spice they have put on it but overall it doesn’t taste or smell like jerk and it’s not good

GREAT PLACE TO GET FOOD HOWEVER NOT ALWAYS THE FOOD IS FRESH, BOUGHT JERK A COUPLE TIMES AND THE MEAT IS HARD. WHY DO WE HAVE TO PAY FOR EXTRA JERK SAUCE? YOU ARE ALREADY PAYING FOR THE JERK AND YOU NEED THE SAUCE TO GO WITH IT. THE SERVICE WAS GREAT BEFORE BUT NOW IT'S STARTING TO GO DOWN HILL.

I don’t recommend the food here. I came here and bought a handful of things because I expected it to be good but I was sadly mistaken. They had a stewed king fish and it tasted sour. I tried to take it home and see if I was wrong by feeding it to my dad but it just ended up going in the garbage. Along with other things that we had like the curry and the noodles…I just wouldn’t recommend. The best thing was the bottled beer

I got here to this Etobicoke location thinking the food was the same as at Gerard square. Big mistake!!! This food tastes like curry powder the restaurant looks run down and it's full of drunk people.I'm shocked this place is still open.If you want GREAT Caribbean food take a trip to Gerard square food court Tropical Joe's best food EVER!!!You won't regret it.

I ate at tropical Joe's in Gerrard SquareWas a bit surprised the 2 are nothing alike.Had the boneless curry chickenIt was different from the other places I had.The chic peas were a nice touch the servings are huge next time i will ask for half the amount of chicken. Now phoulaire most likely misspelled that.10 for $3 comes with vinegerette dipping sauce very tasty.similar to a festivalI will definitely visit again.Guy behind counter super friendly

It was my first time trying this restaurant. The service was so pleasant and warm just like back home in the caribbean. The selection is so broad and they offer foods that are hard to find in the GTA. I got the jerk chicken with rice and peas. The food was delicious and home-made. My sister is pregnant and she’s been a VERY picky eater, but she loved it all! I’LL BE BACK!
