Restaurant Review for Xawash
Xawash is a gem for anyone seeking authentic, flavorful cuisine. From the moment you step in, you’re welcomed by warm, down-to-earth people who take pride in their service. The atmosphere is simple and clean, allowing the focus to stay on the incredible food. We tried the lamb chops and Mandi, both of which were deliciously seasoned and cooked to perfection. The flavors felt genuinely authentic, and each dish had a homemade touch that made the experience all the more enjoyable. Great service, great food—Xawash is definitely worth a visit!

It has been over 20 mins of waiting to receive one fresh orange juice! There must be another person helping with taking orders because this is not ok! I really used to love this place and it saddens me to see its service dropping.

If there was a zero to rate this restaurant, I would use it. I got from there two weeks ago and got very sick. I hate to describe food in this way, but their food is disgusting in every possible way. ? I will be reporting the restaurant to the Food control!
In the heart of Etobicoke lies Xawaash, a culinary gem that perfectly marries tradition with contemporary elegance. From the moment you step inside, the restaurant’s chic, modern aesthetic combined with an atmosphere of impeccable cleanliness and inviting warmth beckons you to sit back and indulge.
The menu at Xawaash is a testament to the rich tapestry of Somali cuisine. Each dish is meticulously prepared, offering a symphony of flavors that tantalize the taste buds. The Somali Spiced Beef is a particular highlight, its tenderness and flavor depth indicative of skilled, passionate cooking. The Chicken Suqaar, with its aromatic spices and vibrant textures, offers a delightful, authentic culinary experience.
Equally praiseworthy is the attentive, courteous staff who exemplify what it means to provide excellent customer service. Their friendly demeanor, paired with a deep knowledge of the menu, ensures that every dining experience is personalized and memorable. The staff’s representation of the diverse, multicultural spirit of Toronto enhances the authenticity of the dining experience, making every visit to Xawaash feel like a journey into the heart of Somali hospitality.
Xawaash is not just a restaurant; it is a culinary oasis where quality food, exceptional service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere converge. It is a place where one can savor the best of Somali cuisine while enjoying the embrace of friendly hospitality, making it a standout destination in Etobicoke.
In the Summer of 2021, I became a loyal patron of Xawaash restaurant, thanks to my lovely wife who introduced me to this remarkable establishment. The moment I walked in, I was struck by the contemporary setup and the impeccable cleanliness that set a welcoming tone.
After ordering my meal, I found myself staying much longer than initially planned, indulging in their delectable dessert menu. The food at Xawaash is not only flavorful and affordable but also served with great care. The management is friendly, making every visit feel like a special occasion. Since my first visit, I have become a regular customer on weekends. My personal favorites are the chicken mandi, ginger Somali Tea paired with the Date cake and vanilla ice cream—a perfect ending to any meal.
Beyond the food and service, what stands out to me is the staff's embodiment of our diverse Canadian culture. The majority of the employees are young adults who exude friendliness and respect, truly enhancing the dining experience. Their warm and welcoming demeanor makes Xawaash not just a restaurant but a vibrant community hub. I continue to look forward to my visits, each one as delightful as the last.

Absolutely! Xawaash truly excels in both culinary prowess and exceptional service.
Their menu offers a tantalizing array of dishes, each bursting with flavor and authenticity. The Somali Spiced Beef is tender and succulent, marinated to perfection, while the Chicken Suqaar is a delightful blend of spices and textures. Every meal is a vibrant symphony of taste, reflecting the rich culinary heritage of Somali cuisine.
What truly elevates the dining experience at Xawaash, however, is the staff. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The servers are attentive and knowledgeable, eager to make your dining experience memorable. Their friendly demeanor creates a welcoming atmosphere, making you feel right at home.
In essence, Xawaash isn't just about great food; it's about creating a sense of community. The staff's dedication to providing excellent service, coupled with the delightful dishes, makes every visit a pleasure. It's no wonder that it has become my go-to spot for a satisfying and heartwarming meal.

Absolutely incredible Somali restaurant - the food is beyond this world. I shared a lamb mandi with my partner and the meat would fall off the bone. It was so good. We also had the potato wedges and milk cake, the milk cake was delicious too!
My brother had the beef suqaar and it tasted delicious too, and I had some of the chicken mandi my friend got the day after and it still held up.
