Stonewater Pub

Travelling from Montreal to Toronto we stopped here after having driven the beautiful 1000 islands parkway.
The food was amazing and also the atmosphere, the girl gave us so nice suggestions and tricks

The atmosphere is so cozy and warm, and the staff and owners are lovely. We check the online menu every day to see if Matt and Chelsea have a new item they’re trying out, and they always knock it out of the park when they do. They had a seafood pasta on their menu for New Year’s Eve in 2024, and it was genuinely the best thing I’ve ever eaten in my life. I do not shut up about it.

It is definitely the best pub in Gananoque. The fish and chips was great but also the other options.
Great selection of beers in a nice environment with a great service.
Definitely worth more than one visit.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the Stonewater pub. It was a bit frustrating to be get any attention from the hostess or wait staff for some time. When we eventually got seated we ordered the fish and chips (my friend) and I had their sesame salad both of which were delicious. They claimed to be known for their fish and chips and I could see why, it was excellent!

I visited Stonewater Pub after a weekend activity. The location was perfect, just across the street, and it was open until 11 PM when most other places had already closed.

The staff was friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere was lively with great live music, and the restaurant was busy even at 9:30 PM. We ordered the poutine, which was authentic Quebec-style and offered great value.

The decor was nice, the restaurant was clean, and the service was quick and attentive. They’re also known for their fish and chips. Overall, an excellent experience—I highly recommend Stonewater Pub!

Very busy but excellent food and drinks. We came on a Saturday and there was live music from local musicians.

Absolutely awful. Disappointing doesn’t even begin to cover it. The sign at the entrance boasts that they’re “famous for their fish and chips.” What it should say is that they’re famous for serving the worst fish and chips you’ll ever have. The panko breading was so hard the fish actually cracked when cut, and the fries were limp, cold, and tasteless.

The chicken club sandwich was no better—just a couple of slices of chicken with tomato and lettuce. No bacon, no flavour, nothing resembling a proper club.

Then came the so-called “smash burger”: dry, overcooked, and about as enjoyable as eating cardboard.

I honestly can’t remember the last time I had a meal this bad, and I was embarrassed that I suggested eating here.
