Unfortunately the most expensive loaf of bread I have purchased. I bought a loaf of spelt/ sourdough Sat July 27. Had it with soup that evening and broke a tooth. The crust was very tough but bread was tasty. Tried to inform bakery on Monday July 29 that they might like to evaluate their recipe. Unfortunately they are closed for a summer break.
Delicious !

The rotating flavours of focaccia is something fun we look forward to. The kimchi focaccia specifically has us in a chokehold. They top their pillowy focaccia with kimchi, gochujang, cheese curds, red onion, and garnish with scallions and sesame seeds. It is delightfully savoury, salty, mildly funky, with the slightest accent of sweetness. As much as I enjoy the other flavours, nothing compares to this one. Do yourself a favour and try it out! Also their other baked goods (a variety of sourdough bread flavours, cookies, and many other delights) evoke feelings of comfort and wholesomeness.
Stopped in on a whim when I was picking up beers next door. Very glad I did! Unfortunately I wasn't able to buy more, picked up a couple cookies and a breakfast muffin thing. Cookies were good, breakfast egg/cheese/bacon thing was tasty!

I will echo another review from someone else to say the apple cinnamon muffin was totally lacking in moisture. I understand a rustic and this wasn’t it. Hopefully almanac can try a new recipe!

Had the salted chocolate chip cookie and it was way too salty. The cookie would have been OK if it weren’t for so many salt flakes all over it. Hopefully they can improve.

Love the products at Almanac. Everything has a distinctive rustic taste that I really enjoy. Items taste homemade the old fashioned way instead of heavily processed with lots of preservatives. Their breads are substantial and dense, if you're looking for light airy fluffy bread, look elsewhere. I really like their breads for sandwiches because they hold their shape and don't get soggy.

If you're craving an unparalleled sourdough experience, look no further than this hidden gem of a bakery and mill! From their tantalizing sourdough buns to their delectable array of baked sweets, every bite is a symphony of flavor and texture. What truly sets them apart is their commitment to quality, evident in every golden crust and airy crumb. But it's not just about the products; it's the passion that permeates every aspect of this establishment. The friendly staff, led by the dedicated owner, go above and beyond to ensure every customer feels welcomed and inspired. And for aspiring sourdough enthusiasts, the owner's sessions are a must-attend, offering invaluable insights and tips. But let's talk about those sticky buns – they're pure magic, a perfect balance of gooey sweetness and tangy sourdough goodness. Trust me, you haven't truly experienced sourdough in Ottawa until you've savored one of their sticky buns. Whether you're a seasoned sourdough aficionado or a curious newbie, this bakery and mill is a must-visit destination that will leave you amazed and craving more.
Vegetarian options: Yes indeed, plenty of vegetarian options available.
Parking: Parked in front of the store, there were plenty of spots available
Wheelchair accessibility: I would say it’s ’ok’ for wheelchair access.

I bought the focaccia on my first visit. It was delicious! I also bought brownies I will try later. They have a very rich chocolate smell. I am eager to go back. The Hot Cross Buns are really good!
