Great bento lunches! They tend to sell out but you can order ahead online via their website up to 9:59am same day (that day's lunch disappears from their online shop at 10am so beware and make sure you're ordering for the day you want).

Not crowded on a Tuesday afternoon. Service was fairly quick. Food was edible. Wasn't bad, but also nothing to rave about. Am however frustrated with the portion. It was barely half the bowl. At least fake it and add more rice.

Food first:The food is made fresh. I have watched them preparing food at different times during the day.The food is VERY tasty. For example, the Ramen (chicken is my favorite) has an amazing broth, equal to the "craft" ramen places at which I have eaten in Manhattan, Montreal and London. The fresh Poké bowl has warm sushi rice, topped with a generous layer of cubed tuna, edamame, avocado, seaweed and a yummy sauce. A meal by itself. The sushi is very tasty. (California roll, spicy tuna crunch roll and tuna lover combo are the ones I have had.) I have had the separate order of seaweed, which is fresh, and the vegetable dumplings, which are also good.Prices are very fair, especially for Midtown Manhattan.Service next:The staff at this Bento Sushi are really friendly. They happily explain the ingredients, serve with a smile, even when slammed at lunch time.Ambiance now:This a VERY clean place! I was there duting an inspection and spoke with the inspector. He said this place receives his highest marks, and that he has never found anything wrong with the temperatures, cleanliness, anything. They have nice wooden tables and conformatble metal chairs if you want to sit and eat, plus, of course, takeout and delivery. It is large and well lit.I heartily recommend this for a fast, very tasty, fairly priced meal in Midtown, near Grand Central.

Nice variety . Bento boxes were a good amount of food. They had a clean restaurant and the owners were nice.

Great deal, high quality food, give them a try! I haven't read the other reviews yet, I see that many of them are pretty low. All I know is that the food is always perfectly fresh. They make everything fresh every morning and starting about 3:30 PM maybe 4 o'clock they sell off all Sushi. Of course this is because they make it fresh every morning. I've been in right when they opened a couple of times and I've seen preparing the sushi. Again, everything is perfectly clean and is just as fresh and handled with as much care as any sushi restaurant I've been to. So while it is not a "traditional," looking sushi restaurant, they seem to use display just as stringent safety protocol as even the most expensive restaurants. If they don't, I certainly haven't seen it. The only fish that they use is salmon and tuna. This allows them to keep, looks like excellent, quality control. I think there's three of these places in the city, i've been to the one on Broadway downtown and this one on 3rd Ave between 43rd and 44th both are great, Something else I like is that, at either location that I have been to it is always the same three or four employees. They care about what they are doing and take pride in it. . I'm very curious about what I will read as far as negative reviews go. I think this place is one of the best deals in the city.

We have gotten bento for a few years now , and have always gotten the same things . Wok fried rice And a few sushi rolls ( always was pretty good ! Made it a weekly thing to have on Thursday ! The last few times it was absolutely terrible . Rice was over cooked , carrots were undercooked . (Wok fried rice bowl) Not satisfied at all .

This is one of the worst permutations of "white-people-Asian-food" (which can sometimes be really good, like Wagamama's) I've ever had. Seriously, with how many amazing restaurants, especially Japanese restaurants there are in NYC, I don't understand how this place is still in business. I ordered a salmon donburi, and it's basically a really dry piece of salmon (literally it almost tasted like salmon jerky) and very mushy rice that tasted more like excessively dry congee than steamed rice. The good thing is that it's fairly cheap - $9 for a Salmon Donburi...but you'd be better off signing up for MealPal and getting better food elsewhere for $6.50.

Got A California roll from my local shoprite. It was horrible couldn't even finish it. Rice is hard, the seaweed wrap is mushy, the avocado is hard and brown at the same time. The crab is chopped with something mixed with it. Im really more mad that shoprite would take away their fresh prep for this chemically filled product. sushi is suppose to be fresh and clean you can't imitate that. But Bento never again.

The sushi is ok here but it doesn't have that fresh taste you get form going to a restaurant.
