I’m a big breakfast person so I’m also very picky. This place actually took me beyond surprise. The eggs are so fresh and taste salted perfectly. The potatoes are amazing. Shoutout the chef who made my scrambled eggs today.

My wife and I came here for breakfast after hearing from friends that breakfast was excellent. We've had good supper experiences; but were reluctant to try breakfast in a restaurant that specializes in fish. Our breakfasts were terrific and very reasonably priced. The eggs were done exactly as requested. Many places charge extra for rye bread; but not here. Coffee is extra; but it's very good. Overall, our experience with the food, the cost, cleanliness and the excellent service was better than most restaurants in the east end of Ottawa.

They need to hire more than one server during lunch. This is the second time going in 2 weeks and both times had one server. Not impressed.

We tried this restaurant for the first time on Friday and boy was it worth it! The fish chowder was creamy and delicious and the fried haddock was light, flaky and not greasy at all. The fries were just like a chip wagons and we loved them. The waitress was bright and funny and very attentive. We definitely will go back.

We went to Halibut House for lunch after our group walk and were really looking forward to it. We were a larger group, so we pulled a couple of tables together. Unfortunately, the service was very disappointing — we waited for menus, waited again for drinks, waited for our food, and then had to wait even longer for silverware because they were apparently washing it. The restaurant was not busy, with only a few tables occupied, yet they didn’t seem to have enough silverware for everyone.
My husband’s fish and chips were good, but overall the experience was poor. Sadly, we won’t be coming back.

Three things make or break a restaurant. Quality of food, service and of course price. This restaurant is excellent in all three. I have been a dozen times and the fish always comes out perfect with a light crispy batter. They are so skilled and customer orientated that if you ask for your chips to be extra crispy, they certainly will be. Very hard to ge t that at another restaurant. The staff are very attentive and friendly. Cannot wait for my next visit next week.

Had a delicious breskfast there this morning. I had the special: eggs, bacon, homefries and toast. My friend had a BLT. Great tasting and reasonably priced!

Should change your oil more often.

Great spot for classic fish and chips meal. The fish itself was very enjoyable, lightly battered with good flavour. I wasn’t much of a fan of the coleslaw. The “chips”were solid.

I also had the fish tacos as an appetiser, while the fish itself was excellent, the sauce used in the taco didn’t complement the fish.

Overall, the fish is the star of the meal. If I could give a 4.5/5 I would.

Food was fresh and large portion sizes. The battered shrimp paired with the red sauce was a great combo
