Mixed feelings about this place. First the good, food is tasty, decor is nice. Now the bad, portions are extremely skimpy. 27 bucks for a super burrito one not so fully filled, flat wet burrito with a pittance of rice on the side and a bowl of soupy bean whatever it was supposed to be with one lousy tortilla chip stuck in it. Whatever happened to a Mexican restaurant that when you are seated bring you a nice fresh bowl of chips and some homemade salsa. Even Lone Star still does this. Ordered a margarita without looking at menu, 19 bucks for a drink, almost choked when I got the bill. Ordered a starter of tortillas and some sort of cheese dip, never got it, server apologies as he placed our entrees. Menu is very small compared to an older menu that I saw on the pics here. No churros for desert,hard fail there Bonita. Sorry I will never be back.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great! This place is such a hidden gem. Service was phenomenal. We ate and had leftovers and the drinks were amazing!

Ok seriously this place is exceptional. I was surprised that it wasn't advertised anywhere on the street, but when I tried their food I saw why no advertising was needed. It's home cooked meals, original dishes and drinks, and such a friendly service you feel like family. It was packed within a few minutes of getting there, but it didn't get too loud. You could still hold a conversation easily without raising your voice.
Cherry on top of the cake was the plethora of gluten free options. I'm celiac so this was just amazing to see and I will 100% be coming back because there are so many things on the menu I want to try!

A young couple was running the place this evening. I have eaten lunch at LaBonita many times. The food is generally really good. Tonight, June 22 2025, was very different. The first thing was that the music was so loud you could not hear yourself think let alone speak with another person. I explained that to both people working the front of the restaurant but they did nothing. My good showed up before my drink and was warm, not hot. There drinks are always well make. I mentioned the loudness of the music once again but nothing was done. I finished my meal as quickly as possible, paid, and left without desert. The loudness of the music really ruined the visit, over powered any enjoyment have eating out. I won't be back.

Terrible taste of the food, nothing we ate tasted like Mexican food, the rice seemed like it was frozen and had an unpleasant taste, the service is passable, but the price of the food is through the sky Definitely if you are Mexican I do not recommend this place in the least.

Good Mexican food and an authentic atmosphere, but with recent price hikes, including $2.50 for a SMALL sour cream (think ketchup format), it’s unfortunately not somewhere we’ll come back to soon!
