Cream puffs were not as advertised. Icing was in between not whipped filling like they should have. They were so sweet we ended up tossing them. The cherry bread was also burnt and could not be eaten. It was over priced and not good.
Best bakery around by far

I placed an order online for 3 types of cookies and paid online. When we got home, we were given the wrong type of cookies. Their chocolate chip cookies are so dry and tasteless that they all ended up in the trash! I emailed them 2x with my order form and photo proof of their error. I asked for a refund, and I have not heard anything back in a month. All 3 types of cookies were so dry and had almost no mix ins. Do NOT buy their cookies! Garbage! Horrible customer service!

my grandfather was a baker here many years ago. was sad to return to Goderich and discovered that the iconic creampuff recipe has been completely changed and not for the better ðŸ˜
These donuts are terrible, just terrible. Nothing like they used to be. Stop riding off the coattails of the bakers that did it right. Your donuts are an embarrassment to the name and town. Period.

After dinner across the street, we stopped by this little bakery in Goderich. They were just about to close, so the selection was a bit limited, but we still managed to grab a mix of treats — cookies, lemon bars, and a few other goodies. Prices were very reasonable.
Back at the hotel, we tried everything and honestly, every single item was delicious. The cookies were especially good — we picked several kinds, and my son loved them so much he wanted to go back the next day just to buy a whole box.
It’s a small, charming bakery (looked like it’s run by one lady when we visited), and it’s definitely worth a stop if you’re in town. Great taste and a lovely local find!

Just keeping things real for other customers. I want Culbert's to succeed; it has been a Goderich staple for generations and decades. For nostalgia reasons, I am giving a 2. Not like it was, unfortunately. I am afraid to contact the owner or leave a message under any Facebook posts as the owner can be quite rude in replying, when you want to genuinely express concerns, but perhaps its none of my business. They must know their business better than me; however, having only one staff on during their rush times is delinquent. People were just leaving. I should have left because the cream puff tasted day old, stale, and stiff. I'm not sure what is going on, but we always looked forward to coming on our vacation. Just disappointing for how much the prices have increased. Typically, we go every day. We only went once and learned our lesson this time. So long Culbert's...it was nice knowing you at one time.

Our family has been long time customers of Culbert's. Our order on Saturday (myself and friends included) was extremely stale and tasted nothing like the original cream puffs. Along with that, prices have gone up and the staff were extremely rude. We were so disappointed and will not be returning.

We are long-time customers of Culberts which used to serve the best yeasted baked goods around. These alone, were worth the trip to Goderich.
Our first time back at Culberts today since the new ownership change. The name is same but that's where the similarity ends.
We were truly disappointed in the baked goods purchased. The turnovers were flat with a heavy thick pastry and industrial taste/texture – very blah compared to the original Culberts light, airy and flakey turnovers. The donuts were extremely disappointing as well – nothing like the original recipe – way too sweet and bland tasting.
Quite simply – nowhere near in the same league as the original Culberts. Just not the same baked goods as before. Very unfortunate for customers that the new owners have moved away from the original Culberts iconic baked goods experience. We won’t be going back.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Shame to change a place that has stood the test of time. Won't be returning.

I’ve been coming here for years and the food has always been top notch. We were sad to see it for sale, but then the people who bought it (now the owners) were so considerate to keep Culberts name and recipes alive and brought with them new and tasty ideas as well. It is a MUST stop place if you ever come to Goderich
Purchased donuts and a few snacks while vacationing in the area the morning of July 10th The honey glaze seemed stale, but my son and sister in law finished their donuts and I threw mine out, they both had upset stomachs a few hours later unfortunately, honestly they were worse then a Tim Hortons donut, I figured they would be made fresh daily but these tasted like a few day old donuts. I want to support local but can’t if it’s making people sick
