Midori Sushi Bar and Restaurant is an incredible place to visit in Grand Bend. The space is beautiful, and it is clear that they are always working to improve, expand, and make the experience even better for their guests.
The back patio is especially impressive and is a wonderful place to sit, enjoy dinner, and have a few drinks in a relaxed atmosphere. The food, setting, and overall experience make Midori a standout local destination.
We highly recommend Midori Sushi Bar and Restaurant to anyone spending time in Grand Bend.

Large group. Restaurant was not that busy but there were a few patrons. Auto gratuity of 20% applied to large group. Tough to get drinks, took quite a while, sevice was not equivalent to the 20% charge and because it was automatically applied staff seemed indifferent. Food was alright but certainly not exceptional, similar issues last year so unfortunately, there will be no strike three. Entertainment was good and the outdoor setting was picturesque but that's about it. Sorry. I normally say nothing but I hope this constructive criticism helps.
The sushi was fresh and tasty with nice presentation! Friendly and attentive service.

Beyond wonderful 💖
This is our third time in this location at the Doris‘s. Every time has been a wonderful experience for my wife and I we actually brought a couple in. We were visiting on our vacation in Grand Bend and brought them there. They want to go back also Taylor the manager is exceptionally kind and helpful. The servers were all wonderful and the food is delicious Tom and Mary Lou O’BRIEN.

Very very good food. It's very unfortunate that the service is so bad. Wait staff standing around eating or texting on their phones while customers are waiting for service. The live entertainment is amazing also.
Food was really tasty , music by Bryan is always enjoyable. Service is extremely slow and we all seen them idle and chatting inside frequently instead of paying attention to the customer

Midori is a charming hidden gem in Grand Bend. With a short walk from the main strip, the food is so good and filling you’ll want to enjoy the walk after. Compliments to Head Chef Ari and their wonderful staff as they were all very friendly, attentive and caring throughout our dining experience. There are a few standard staples done well but it’s the unexpected dishes that had really gotten my mouth to water and each item we ordered did not disappoint. Already looking forward to return to try more food, drinks and dessert!
Helpful tip, call to make reservations in advance to ensure you will get a good seat and don’t come super hungry as quality food takes time to be served. They also have vintage kimonos for sale at the entrance which is a cool added touch for the experience. Thanks again for a wonderful evening, we enjoyed everything!

This used to be my favorite sushi restaurant, but unfortunately, I can’t recommend it anymore.
Ever since the ownership changed, it feels like there’s no one managing the kitchen or maintaining quality standards. Both the taste and presentation of the dishes have become noticeably inconsistent. They seem to depend entirely on which chef is working, rather than reflecting a consistent standard.
I’m a regular customer, so I’ve noticed the inconsistency over multiple visits. Sometimes the sushi rolls are excellent—beautifully presented, tightly rolled, generously filled, and have the great texture they always used to have. Those visits remind me why this used to be my favorite place.
On other visits, my wife and I have had completely different experiences. It was hard to believe the food was coming from the same restaurant. We’ve received rolls where the rice had a dense, unpleasantly gummy texture, the pieces fell apart before we could even pick them up with our chopsticks, and the rolls arrived all squished together on the plate like a mess. It honestly didn’t look like something prepared by a professional sushi chef. The inconsistency is frustrating because it doesn’t feel like you’re dining at the same restaurant from one visit to the next.
What disappointed me the most was seeing the table next to us receive beautifully presented sushi that looked fresh and professionally made, while our rolls looked like they had been carelessly thrown together. Every piece was already falling apart before we could even pick it up with our chopsticks. Honestly, it looked worse than grocery store sushi, yet they’re charging $22–24 per roll before tax.
On top of that, the wait time has become unreasonable. Recently, we waited 45 minutes to an hour for our food. Long waits are understandable when a restaurant is packed, but that wasn’t the case.
At these prices, customers should be able to expect consistent quality, professional presentation, and reasonable service every single visit.
I’m leaving this review because I genuinely hope things improve. This restaurant used to be one of my favorite sushi spots, and I’d really like to see it return to the standard it once had. I’m willing to give it another try, but I sincerely hope the management takes these concerns seriously and restores the consistency that made this restaurant worth coming back to.

Food & drinks were very disappointing, especially the sushi. Everything was super salty and the food is not authentic at all. Will not be back, especially at this price point

Foods good but they have STUPID hours. Have driven here for lunch twice this summer already and it has been closed both times.

I’ve been a local and a regular at Midori since they were on Main Street, so writing this honestly sucks. This used to be one of my favorite places to grab sushi, but the last few visits have been disappointing, and last night was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
Over the past few years the prices have gone up a lot, but I figured I’d give them one more chance and ordered takeout. For almost $80, I expected a lot more. The food came packed in what looked like a French fry container, with the rolls all squished together. The presentation was honestly disappointing. Midori used to be the kind of place where the experience started with how the food looked, and now it just feels like an afterthought.
Unfortunately, the sushi itself wasn’t much better. The rolls just aren’t the same anymore. The quality has definitely gone downhill, and they simply didn’t taste as fresh or as good as they used to.
On top of that, the service wasn’t great either. The restaurant wasn’t even busy on a Saturday night, yet I stood at the front for a few minutes before anyone even acknowledged I was there. A simple “Hi, we’ll be with you in a minute” goes a long way, but that never happened. The staff just didn’t seem interested.
I’m genuinely disappointed because this place used to be fantastic. Ever since it changed ownership, it feels like the quality, service, and attention to detail have all slipped. I never thought I’d be writing a review like this, but unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be coming back. It really feels like the great Midori that so many of us loved has come to an end.

Best sushi, very nice location.
Since ownership change everything is worse. Food is not nearly as good.
I would not recommend Midori now!!!
I had a very great time here. The building was very aesthetically pleasing, clean, and unique.
The food was also just as great. Fresh, filling, and delicious. We tried a wide range of sushi rolls, and there wasn’t anything that was disappointing. There were interesting flavour combinations, such as one of the sushi options containing pineapple for a sweet twist. Their Fuji roll was definitely a display piece as it comes pilled with toppings in the shape of Mount Fuji.
It is a tad expensive, but nothing different than if you were to get sushi anywhere. The one downside I didn’t enjoy was the noise level, as the seating area itself is on the more small size, so it gets loud very quickly as people fill the room. I was having to raise my voice quite a bit to speak to the person right across and beside me.
