**If I could give this place zero stars, I would.** Sushi by the Water was a complete disappointment. The employees were rude from the moment I walked in, and they even charged me for bottled water without mentioning it upfront. The sushi was old, tasted disgusting, and felt like it had been sitting out for hours. To make things worse, my stomach hurt so bad after, and I ended up getting sick. This place is definitely not authentic, despite what they might want you to believe. Don’t come here unless you want to risk getting sick—there are way better sushi spots out there. The best thing I had here was the coke.

Yeah this place made my boyfriend and I incredibly sick for days after we ate here, to the point where I contemplated going to the emergency room. So disappointing as well that I continue to read and hear people express their concerns with the food quality and they are met with rude and snappy responses by the owner. Completely unprofessional and I certainly will not be back.

Friendly service and beautiful atmosphere! Food was so good, I forgot to take a photo beforehand with the beautiful presentation.
Dietary restrictions: Because I'm on a gluten-free diet, the server separated my order to avoid cross contamination!

Sushi tasted great. Sitting outside, the view was exceptionally good. I would come here again. The digital menu and physical menu was easy to use and understand. Staff member was friendly and wanted to help.
One of the staff members did not speak English and did not understand we wanted some water.
CASH ONLY. And you are not allowed to split the bill, which was a bit of a hassle at the end.
Overall a good experience but payment system needs some work.

Horrible grease odor when I arrived sat on the poorly decorated porch with a spectacular view. Food arrived quickly and Tempura was cold and old. The Salmon hand roll (we were told to eat first......hmmm) and in looking at the salmon it had a Grey look to it and tasted awful. Oh and they only except cash and have no tap water......only bottled plastic ?. Oh yes the tamari vessel leaks and dishes are plastic.

This is a gorgeous spot on the water with tasty, reasonably priced sushi. I sat outside for lunch and it was lovely soaking up the sunshine and enjoying my delicious maki rolls while taking in the water view. The staff are lovely, and overall this was a great place to eat. I wish I was staying in Muskoka longer so I can visit again!

Amazing friendly owners, with high quality sushi. This is the best sushi I have ever had and I've had sushi in BC. I would recommend anyone that's passing through Bala, muskoka to definitely visit this restaurant

Regular attention, they can't give water to customers because of "company policies", you have to buy it, and the hand rolls are a disgrace, the only nice thing is the view and not even that is worth it.Regarding your answer: before being a company that serves customers I guess you are also customers, and tell me how many times any of the employees check the health code of each restaurant they attend? Because in nearby restaurants they do offer water... it's basic gentlemen, a little common sense.Have a nice day
