Our waitress Madi was not overly busy (we were the only patrons) and might have checked on how our meal was (it was outstanding), but certainly pleasant. The food was excellent and the setting was beautiful, overlooking Lake Muskoka from our window table.
Had the risotto which was really good. It was also excellent friendly service at a great location.

I believe they were short staffed. One guy running the bar plus taking orders and serving . Checked only once as to how the food was . Brought coffee no milk or cream , had to ask another waitress for the dessert and for the bill . The food was very good but the service wasn't .
Braised beef short ribs were amazing as was the Fryday trout. Service was good however the noise level was intrusive as room is very ‘live' - it could do with some acoustic treatment.
We stayed at Taboo and were going to go to the restaurant Monday night and were told there was a dress code so went elsewhere. Then Tuesday morning went for breakfast and told none was required. Ordered the omelette which had mushrooms and supposedly feta. Omelette was overcooked and very dry. No feta to speak of. Went again for dinner as we didn’t want to drive elsewhere and had the seafood linguine. Considering Mark Mckewan criticizes everyone on the cooking shows for overcooking seafood, I thought it would be great. Very very disappointing. Calamari was extremely rubbery and shrimp was overdone. No bread with the pasta either. My husband had a burger and said it was okay but seemed underdone. Would definitely NOT recommend!!

My wife and I came to this restaurant for the first time, and yes, the view is beautiful—but that’s the only good thing about it. We ordered the Boathouse Burger because our waitress said it was their signature dish. Honestly, it was extremely disappointing.
The burger tasted exactly like a Double Quarter Pounder from McDonald’s—same sauce, same bun, same lettuce—but smaller, and it cost $27 plus tax. It wasn’t even a big burger; it was tiny. For that price, it was shocking how low the quality was. I wouldn’t be surprised if they literally bought the burgers from McDonald’s.
The cheese sticks were good, but $20 plus tax for only six small pieces is way too much. The fries were also a tiny portion.
Taylor, our waitress, was friendly and professional, and the view is great—but the food ruins the whole experience. If you’re coming here for the food, don’t waste your money.
The Boathouse Burger was one of the worst burgers I’ve had for that price. I will never come back, and I don’t recommend this place to anyone looking for good food or at least a good burger.

Their salads are amazing. Great tasting thin pizza and top notch views during the afternoon and also the evening night fall. Will revisit again!

Arriving to the location there was little to no signage indicating how to get to the restaurant, the parking was far from restaurant and confusing
The service, and the food were both excellent we were in and out in a timely manor, my only complaint was that our table was slightly wobbly, the staff tried to fix it but could not.
Overall, it was a nice experience with a nice atmosphere, the live music was a great touch, I rate this restaurant a 4 out of 5 for these reasons.

The breakfast was low quality, and the poached eggs tasted strongly of vinegar. We waited about 25 minutes for our coffee and tea. We were kindly sat at the window, which offered a beautiful view, however the dining room was unexpectedly austere. It felt more like a cafeteria.

The service was wonderful and the view of the sunset from our outdoor table was spectacular.

Excellent server. Calamari very good but salad with unopened, hard avocado and dry, overcooked salmon. Outdoor patio with great view but indoor atmosphere was bland
The pizza is by far the best I have ever had. Nona's meatballs another must have. From the excellent service to the stunning view , 10/10. Highly recommend this restaurant. I can honestly say it is one of my favourites .
We celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary here yesterday. The setting, service and food were perfect. Bobby, our server, was excellent...fast, efficient and helpful!
