The Aberfoyle Mill was built in 1859 and used as a grist Mill producing Oatmeal. In 1966 it opened as a Restaurant after 6 years of restoration. The Original Heritage Charm was preserved and now offers a glimpse into ancient 19th century times with an extensive collection of Antiques, preserved Millwork and pioneer tools.
Some of the curation included
Equestrian Decorations and Sleigh, textile production tools (Spinning wheel), fireplace bellows, farm tools such as rakes, Cast iron Lawn roller and many more to even mention. These Items are suspended and mounted from the ceiling to create an immersive experience.
Another very interesting exhibit is the Water powered machinery. The Turbine hydraulic system represents the foundational technology of modern hydropower.
After you take in all of the surroundings, there is two more stars of the show. The terrific service and food!
The Owner Mr. John Manolis has warmly greeted and seated me over many years.
My waitress’s name is Shayenne and she was genuinely friendly and made sure I was well taken care of throughout my meal. The other Server named Peter was another friendly face that made me feel very welcomed.
I ordered the Curry Sweet Potato and Coconut Soup. It was so savoury and delicious I had to order another to take home.
the pistachio crusted spiced salmon is a consistent winner of culinary excellence.
After I finished my Top-Tier meal the very humble Chef who crafted it came to grace my table with a friendly introduction. His name is Adam and it made me feel very special that he would take the time to meet little ol’ me.
This is one of my favourite restaurants and I can’t wait to dine here again!

Hadn't been here for several years and we enjoyed our meals and the Canadiana atmosphere tremendously. The roasted red pepper soup was one of the best soups I've had in a long time and the featured desert--ginger spice cake with ice cream--was tasty. The man who greeted us at the door offered to hang our coats--a rare and appreciated gesture.

Was quite surprised at how enjoyable it was. Looks very old atmosphere wise, but that's the look there going for!
Service was excellent and the staff was unbelievably helpful and friendly

The food is great here and it's the same as it was 20 years ago. Wow is the place old and it needs some updating. Of course, it's an old building and it should exemplify the by the character of an old building, but the place is just worn out.

Spotted this restaurant on our route back from Guelph, and decided to try it out for date night. So glad we did! A charming restaurant in a historic, character building, it's truly a breath of fresh air away from chain eateries and modern settings. Staff were extremely welcoming from the outset, with our coats taken at the entrance before being seated. We were offered a choice of table either on the main floor or the upper floor. We opted for the upper floor, which sits above the actual workings of the mill. The menu was generous without being overbearing and the food itself was delicious, with the perfect portion sizes and accompaniments. On this occasion, two courses were more than enough, but the dessert menu looked great with a nice variety of options (the white chocolate pistachio cheesecake sounds amazing!). All in all, a great experience and would definitely visit again.

We are a large group of friends that have had the pleasure of having our Christmas Party (and other celebrations) at Aberfoyle Mill for the past few years. John and the team have ALWAYS gone above and beyond to make our night special and accommodate our special requests with total professionalism. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is both elegant and casual - perfect for our needs. Thank you from all of us!

I recently visited Aberfoyle Mill with a party of six. The ambiance was truly lovely, and we appreciated the warm atmosphere on a busy night. Our server was professional and efficient, although not particularly friendly. My group shared a similar sentiment.
I ordered the shrimp linguine. The shrimp were de-tailed, which initially made me think the dish would be easy to enjoy, but I unexpectedly bit down on a piece of wooden skewer hidden in the pasta. For the price point, this kind of oversight was disappointing and affected the overall experience.
Aberfoyle Mill is a nice place, but the food quality didn’t match the price on this occasion.
