The man that is always there when we bring our girls to get their Sweet Tea fix is absolutely amazing, so friendly and super kind to our girls. They have been going frequently and just love how nice and friendly he is. Our youngest has been insisting on using her own money to buy stuff there and LOVES giving him tips! Every day she asks if we can go there. It’s worth mentioning we tried five (haha), but it made me miss so many flavors from Mexico a lot less, including blue corn tortillas, which many people here still haven’t discovered. “We arrived for 5:15pm for our dinner reservation. It was our first time here. We were checked in very quickly. Our hostes was lovely and excited to hear we were there for the first time. Our server was Emily (I hope I got her name right). She was great at explaining the menu and giving recommendations. We really liked that she didn't rush us and made it a very comfortable experience. Appetizer we had the mushroom toast, it was a good portion for two people. Drinks, my husband has beer and I tried the Berries in Bloom and Quebec 37, I enjoyed the Quebec 37 more. For mains I had the potato thin crust pizza and my husband had braised beef cheeks. Both were good portions and delicious. For dessert we had chocolate torte, tasted good but was the smallest dessert we probably ever had at a restaurant. We wish the portion was bigger. After dinner we went to the bookstore next door and picked up some games.”

I usually only review after a bad experience. However, five years of perfect service before this is a great track record. Honest mistakes happen. Overall, still a good run.”

“I usually don't take time out of my day to write a review, but I feel obligated to do it after my experience. The two young gentleman running the place are probably only twenty years old. Their very friendly and mature well beyond their years. The service was fast, and the pizza was to die for. So many toppings. I got 2 pizzas loaded with toppings for only 20 bucks. Not only was the price on point but the pizza was the best pizza I have probably ever eaten. Crust was thin and crunchy but pizza was nice and chewy. I bought it for my son and wife and it was so filling that ate for lunch the next 2 days at work and it tasted almost as good as when first bought. Definitely my new favorite pizza joint. These guys know how to make a 20 dollar bill stretch. Definitely recommend. You won't be dissapointed. 6 stars TY!!”

The haddock didn't seem fresh and was blandly prepared on a bed of yellow beet and fennel risotto that just missed the mark, even after the second attempt. The gnocchi was better, although the sauce seemed overly reduced. The service was excellent, as was the ambiance overall on the second floor. We'll be back, just hoping for better consistency between appetizers and mains the next time around.”

A wide selection of beers and beer types as well as seltzers. They also serve hard alcohol as well,. If that's your thing.
Tried eight different beers and they were all well balanced and brewer and came in a variety of styles.
The sours really stood out with one made with basil being the best of the bunch.
Food options are limited to small snack portions (you can mix and match) but they also allow local food delivery and you can just bring your own.
A calendar showed a variety of interesting events including trivia, and they had a good selection of board games to play.
Both staff members I met were knowledgeable and courteous. Ended up spending an hour talking pizza, board games, and Star Wars with a local which was a great way to spend some of my time in Guelph.”

It came with really delicious house made potato chips. The sausage was more like baked salmon than a sausage texture but the flavour was good but I think I prefer a normal sausage.
I really love the vibe of the place and the servers are so friendly and welcoming.”

The beer selection is impressive with a great variety of craft options on tap. My friend loved their beer pairing recommendations from the bartender. The atmosphere is laid-back and welcoming, perfect for a casual hangout or a night out with friends.

“I live in South End Guelph but after 3 bad experiences at the Swiss Chalet on Stone, I tried this one. It was a MUCH better experience. Although it was during the dinner rush, we were greeted and seated quickly. The server (Brendon?) was really busy, but he was efficient; he took our orders and checked back.
My quarter chicken and fries were fresh and cooked well, my sauce was hot... satisfying all around.
The water was in nice clean glasses and tasted good (vs some other Guelph tap water in restaurants that isn't great). I took a sip of my Diet Pepsi and proclaimed it the best Diet Pepsi I've had in a restaurant in ages. Perfect mix and carbonation!
The interior looks new and spacious and there is a lot of seating. The takeout door is separate so that keeps the entrance from being congested with delivery drivers.
My only complaint is the sticky table when we arrived.”

“With the Grain is my Saturday morning ritual. The coffee and baked goods are amazing. I stock up for the week with an oatmeal sandwich loaf (awesome for our Saturday lunch grilled cheese sandwiches), baguettes (they make for fantastic French toasts), croissant bread (which my daughter devours in her school lunches) and often something sweet as a treat - the brownies, bee sting squares and cinnamon rolls are always a hit! The staff is super friendly and I appreciate the loyalty cards for coffee and bread. The bakery itself is small but so quaint being in an old historical house. If you haven’t tried With the Grain, you’re missing out on a Guelph experience.”

“My granddaughter works for the Timmies at 29 Wellington in Guelph Ontario. She really likes her job and her supervisor. My granddaughter has a good sense of what she prefers and her attitude in going to work each day tells me that she is totally satisfied in her job which is what every grandma wants you to do hear. My favorite is the latte and a chocolate dipped donut. I usually go through the drive through but the employee at the window is friendly and helpful. I have never got a wrong order and am grateful to the staff for making it a pleasant experience. I did write another review today but for some reason only the excellent rating was recorded. Keep up the good work- all of you.”

“I ordered the vegetarian platter for one. It came on a massive piece of injera, and two more rolled slices of injera were served. There was a marvelous, colourful selection of vegetable dishes, three kinds of lentils/beans, four or five types of vegetables, all wonderfully seasoned and cooked, expect for the green salad. Beets, cabbage, greens, salad, lentils, beans, you name it. Injera is fermented and had a lovely sour flavour. Really good for you, as was the whole meal. The portion size was huge, enough for three full meals for me, plus leftover injera for another meal. Service was good and fast, but the restaurant has an overall dilapidated appearance, and although it is clean, may look otherwise due to the age of the furnishings. I saw a few people enter the bathroom while I was there, and when I went to use it saw that it was clean with the exception of the toliet seat which someone had forgotten to raise. I changed my mind and just washed my hands there.”
