This coffee shop was a gem to find. The staff were super friendly and the sandwiches tasted great! The Americanos were tasty and the shop was super clean. We highly recommend coming here. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Guelph.

An excellent cafe staffed by lovely people! Quality drinks and food, and just one of downtown's amazing businesses. Highly recommend!
My wife and I had lunch there last week and the food was excellent.
Our service was also fantastic and there was nothing to complain about.
I’m curious about the previous complaint about the owners of this business. Unfortunate we see one side from Jeremy.
Running a business is incredibly challenging, and there’s always someone out there wanting to try and kick your ass.
This is a great café, it supports the town by paying taxes, it supports the young people by employing them, and keeping the economy rolling.
It also pays the lease on the building, which the landlord likes!
It also pays for work safe, unemployment, insurance, electricity, payroll, etc., etc.
Support your local business owners!

I’m annoyed with myself that I haven’t stopped in here years ago! Great menu, delicious food, and lovely service. I was in a rush and always go to Red Brick by default when I’m downtown but there was a line out the door so I just ran across the square to Capistrano. Needless to say this will be my go-to moving forward!

Cute café, good food, and lattes that actually understood the assignment. The sugar-free option didn’t make me cry, a win. Espresso had actual depth, and the milk was creamy, not foamy air. A bit expensive, but hey glam isn’t cheap.
Verdict: Solid brunch spot with latte bonus points.

The food was excellent, and overall service was decent. However, one server was noticeably rude in response to our babies, which made the experience less enjoyable. This is definitely not a baby-friendly restaurant — there are no high chairs available, and we were given unpleasant looks and comments when our babies tapped on the wooden table. We were also told that babies should not be seated on tables because they are used for dining, which is understandable. That said, I would hope that tables are sanitized after each use regardless, as they can get dirty in many ways.
It’s perfectly acceptable to enforce certain policies, but the tone and manner in which it’s done matters. Rudeness, even when the food is great, can leave a lasting negative impression. Hence the 2 stars 🤷🏻♀️
My response to your response:
There were many people in your restaurant at the time, including an elderly lady sitting in the corner who showed no signs of being bothered by our babies. The only person who seemed to take issue was one tall server with short brown hair. Your intervention in the situation was completely unnecessary and uncalled for.
If you’ve ever had one-year-old babies yourself, you would understand how they behave—it’s perfectly normal. If your restaurant isn’t welcoming to families with young children, you should either provide appropriate seating such as high chairs or clearly state that your establishment is not baby-friendly.
It’s disappointing that, as a business owner, you seem to lack a basic understanding of customer service. I’m also quite surprised by the nature of your “apology,” which failed to take any real accountability for the rude comments and gestures made by your staff. Needless to say, your apology is not accepted.
I sincerely regret not reading previous reviews—especially those mentioning similar experiences with the same server—before choosing your restaurant and having my morning ruined. Hopefully, karma does its part and holds you accountable where customer feedback clearly hasn’t.

What is that response, what a lack of ownership over your own failures and bad service.
Go read how this guy responds to other reviews and ask yourself if you want to fund such a condescending business owner.
Very rude. Poor service. Below average food.
