Although tucked away in a plaza and a little hard to find, this is the place to be for a traditional Bún Riêu Cua in the region! The Phở broth was one of the best we had and the Bún Bò Huế was delicious.We would return here again for the authentic dishes and casual vibes. Their unique selection makes them stand out from other typical Vietnam restaurants in KW and Guelph.Bonus: They even have a Nước Mía (sugarcane cart) that you would find in Vietnam beside their payment counter! Order the sugarcane and you will not be disappointed.

Something Different. In a strip mall, back corner, cute, bright unique little restaurant. Very friendly atmosphere and service. Good prices. Bubble tea was good, lots of milk tea and lychee jelly...not much flavour added. My vermicelli with options bowl was delicious...I added grilled pork and pork with shrimp on sugar cane. It came with salad in one half of the bowl and vermicelli and meat in other half (I had no idea salad was included, but lived it!) Added a bit of peanut sauce from fresh rolls...made it perfect! Fresh rolls were delicious! Good size and my fave were the grilled pork and the pork/shrimp. Great peanut sauce! My guys had Teriyaki with options and chose beef with udon noodles. While it was good, all 3 commented on small portions with few veggies.My other son had teriyaki with vermicelli and shrimp. He wolfed it down. It seemed like vermicelli options had a bigger portion.Went to washroom, it was a dingy place.All in all, cute, good service, good price, great flavours. I would definitely go again. Super cute restaurant with super friendly staff. Ordered spring rolls, rare beef pho, pad thai and iced Vietnamese coffee. Best coffee I've ever had. I will be getting cravings for the spring rolls and pad thai. The soup was also delicious. Will definitely be returning when we're in the area!

One of the best restaurants in Guelph! The staff are super friendly and kind. The food is delicious, I love grabbing a sandwich when I’m in a rush or getting pho after a long day. 10/10 would recommend!

My partner and I came here because it was close to Royal Distributing. The food was so good, the bistro was really cute and cozy, and I'll be back to eat again. Also, I got to choose how sweet I wanted my smoothie. I'm not big on sweet things, so that was like the cherry on top. (:

This place is a little out of the way but well worth seeking out. The food was delicious, service was very friendly and prices were reasonable. Lots of options on the menu. The pho, green curry and chao bistro salad were tasty. We will return.

This place is truly an unpretentious hidden gem that serves very authentic Vietnamese food. I have tried their Banh Mi and other Viet dishes and have never been disappointed.I've been here multiple times and many times JUST for their freshly squeezed Sugar Cane juice (tip: Add pineapples)!I was so glad to see they had Bo Ne (Sizzling Plate) on the menu! Bò né is Vietnamese Sizzling Steak and Eggs breakfast plate. It is Vietnam’s version of steak and eggs. Steak with generous amount of butter, eggs, pate and Vietnamese sausage on a sizzling plate in soy sauce and eaten with a baguette. This is the very few restaurants where I have seen this dish on the menu so I had to get it.
My family found this gem after we went snow tubing in Kitchener. The pho broth was very flavourful and small size pho portion is generous. We even bought some take out so my parents could try as well. My on regret is that we live too far from Chao Bistro otherwise it will be our go to restaurant for Vietnamese food. Great food and wonderful service! We will be back! ?
