We order the ramen here at least once or twice a month for hte last year. I used to order the karaage but recently I've only been getting 6 pieces of chicken and for $10 that's way too little. Everything's been kinda off for the last couple of months, hoping the next time we try we see the quality go back to the way it used to be
Not sure how they have so many reviews they must have paid for them. The ramen was absolutely terrible in taste and proportions for a price standpoint. We paid almost $20 for something an amateur could make at home with Mr Noodles and some green onions and a piece of pork. Could barely split it with two people, so they expect you to pay $40 for this?
Save your money. Won’t be coming back here again. Utterly ridiculous.
Had an awesome experience at Crafty Ramen in Guelph, and a big part of that was thanks to Himar! Super friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in. You can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does—great energy, great vibe, and he made sure everything was just right. Service was quick, and he even gave some solid recommendations that hit the spot. If you’re ever at Crafty Ramen and Himar’s working, you’re in good hands. Thanks, man!
I feel a sense of loss. This was my favourite restaurant for YEARS, I’ve been going here since the beginning of highschool, and have been coming here consistently since then. I’m done college now, for reference. Me and my boyfriend went here again to celebrate.
So. A few things to mention. We walk in, (Saturday, April 19th), and it just stinks of cologne, like absolutely rancid and even for someone who isn’t sensitive to perfume, it make my nostrils sting like crazy. It lingered the whole time, even when the restaurant was empty. But I looked past that.
We got our bowls, and today was actually the day you could come in, get a ramen, and get a free egg. I’ll start off by saying that the eggs were freezing cold. Like super cold (today I got the free egg plus a paid egg). It was so gross honestly, I always get the marinated egg and it’s so warm and gooey. But yeah. They were just extremely cold today. So cold that I couldn’t heat it up in my soup because it also made my soup cold. also asked for extra bok choy like I usually do. I got the tiniest sliver. I literally got nothing. Again, I always ask for extra bok choy and I get an appropriate amount for what I pay for. Not today.
It’s also worth mentioning that the bowl of ramen I got was so diluted, had no flavour, and had so much less broth and noodles in it. Very significant detail.
As me and my boyfriend were eating, one of the employees (who is starting their break I believe) sits directly behind us (the store is empty, and she sits as close as humanly possible to us, less than half a meter away).
She begins a phone call and puts the person on speaker. It’s just so loud and she’s sitting directly behind us. For the duration of the time she’s sitting there (which was for the majority of the time we were there eating, up until we had left) she is coughing like crazy, like obscenely loudly and she was coughing with her mouth open, hacking and practically choking. It was phlegmy and wet, coughing right behind us. Which was no less than uncomfortable and unpleasant.
Quick edit: there are always a cup of chopsticks on the two tables in the back of the restaurant which is where we had sat. As the woman was on the phone, she was fiddling with them, taking them out of the cup and rolling them between her hands. She just put them right back in the cup after that. She had touched every single one of the chopsticks (more than just touched?), and would repeat every so often, seemingly mindlessly.
At that point i get up to leave, I go downstairs to the washroom just wanting to rinse my hands, and the staff are blasting music and shouting. It also stunk. They turned it off once i went down.. but what is going on here??
We just left. It sucks because we’ve been going here forever. The staff changed, the food changed, the atmosphere sucked. I don’t want this to be the last time I ever go here, but the other reviews here only echo mine. Just overall a unfulfilling and gross experience.
Yuzu chicken ramen was insanely delicious!!!
The taste of Gyoza Dumplings is awful, meat was bad. Presentation of the Ramen even not close to standard.
The people were friendly, the place was small and quiet.
The bowl was a lot bigger than I expected it to be, and I kind of wish that I had the choice of a smaller bowl.
I got the chicken Tokyo Salaryman. The chicken breast, noodles, and corn were good, but the broth...is kind of something I might need to get used to. Same with the marinated egg. I'm just glad that ingredients can be added or taken out. Also, it's fortunate that I could bring the unfinished meal with me.
Overall, a nice place. Unfortunately, my taste buds are not that suitable for it.
I used to live in Guelph and this was my fav ramen place. However, I went for a bowl of ramen recently and it is definitely not as good as it used to be, I suspect a change in management/ownership. The broth was chicken only - from what I remember there used to be an amazing duck broth and a traditional pork broth, which were both phenomenal. The chicken broth was... just ok, nothing special at all - tasted store bought. Same with the noodles, as they lacked the typical ramen texture/bite and were void of flavor. They were also out of gluten free noodles (for my friend) and didn't know when the next order was coming in; this was a huge drawback and highlights the mismanagement in the ordering system. Also, the portion size seems much smaller... Overall, the smaller portion size, less fresh ingredients, and bland chicken broth make the high price of a bowl of ramen at around $20 not worth it in my opinion.... makes me sad as it really was such a good little spot.
Small and cramped. The staff was very nice but most of the seating was along the bar/cooking area which wasn't appealing for me. We had two different soups and both are on the salty side.
I ordered Meat Lover and ingredients were not fresh. Especially mushroom was terrible. I asked them to try it, but kept saying its all good. But the taste was like foot odor and stinks. They didn't even ask if I wanted a new one or something like a solution for this. In the end, they just gave me a “free snack” coupon which I didn't even want. One of the servers tried it but still kept saying its good with other servers in their language. Terrible service, terrible food. They don't know how to cook.
I had a good experience here with other servers before, But today’s sever who worked at 1pm were not good servers

We've been to the store in KW, and thought if we'd like to have crafty ramen again, why not check out the other chain store? I think this store in Guelph is actually the first crafty ramen store. Interested interior setup, nice noodles and fried chicken, ingredients are fresh:) Services are excellent, as well! Thank you for giving us a good start for the rest of our day <3
Few things:
1)Garbage on the floor, open bag of garbage with broom and everything right where you are sitting and eating.
2) Not the same freshness as before.
3) Items are with sold out or not in the menu anymore.
This can happen once but last 3 times we went, these are the issues.
Long waiting time
Not authentic at all. Broth is just a miso paste, poorly stirred, so you can see it all over the bowl. The seats are at the counter, so you can watch how the meals are cooked. We’ve been waiting for 30 minutes and honestly I lost appetite by watching how the meals are cooked. I won’t say the conditions were unsanitary, but it just wasn’t pleasant to watch. Overall, it’s just a noodle miso soup, if you’re very hungry like I was, it would be fine. But if you really looking forward to have authentic ramen, this is not the place.
Recently went here drawn in by its high reviews, and it certainly lived up to the hype. The ramen is on the pricier side, but the quality justifies the cost. The menu features interesting names for the dishes, but they're still easy to understand in terms of ingredients and components. On the day I went, the soup wasn’t quite as hot as I would’ve liked—I’m a fan of my ramen piping hot—but the broth was incredibly rich and flavorful. It was still an amazing dish.
The service was quick and friendly, which made for a pleasant experience overall. I'm definitely looking forward to returning to try out the other ramen options they offer. It's a great spot if you're in the mood for something indulgent and delicious!
