Changing review to 1 star. Service and quality has decreased drastically over my initial review from two years ago. Last weekend the strawberry syrup on a funnel cake had spoiled and smelled strongly of alcohol. This was after our Uber Eats pickup order was cancelled (which we use in order to pay with Amex because they no longer accept it even though their signage says they do) so it was a much longer wait than expected. I tried emailing the address that is always provided when responding to reviews to give customer service a chance to respond and have not heard anything. Very disappointing as this used to be our favourite spot.

Entered there at around 12:15 AM, they close at 1:00 AM, so there was about 45 mins of time!

As soon as I walked in, the guy working there said, we are closing and we don’t many options left, just the ice creams! When I started ordering, kept saying prices of all the items and make you feel like you are in such expensive place and can’t afford it.

Very rude and unprofessional customer service.

Better to go somewhere else than here! Not visiting again.

Ordered a large cheesecake tornado. It took about half an hour to receive it, only to have 2 small pieces of cheesecake in the whole thing… very disappointing as D spot is usually really good about portions.

It says here that they are open until midnight we walked in 20 minutes before they close, we proceeded to give our order and this lady tells us we are closed right now even after confronting her about 20 minutes left she didn’t take our order. Kindly change the business hours online or train your staff better

*** Edit: Don't worry, they never actually followed up :P ***
Usually really great, we had orderda strawberry funnel cake and strawberry waffle with icecream. There were so few strawberries on the waffle and the ice cream had a thick film on it and the funnel came burnt. I wouldn't normally say anything, however it is sooo expensive! I suppose buyer beware

I’m writing this directly to the owner, Zaim.

The food quality at D Spot is genuinely good. The desserts are tasty, well-presented, and consistently enjoyable. Credit where it’s due, that’s the main reason we keep coming back.

That said, the experience around ordering is increasingly frustrating. Wait times are always long, which might be understandable occasionally, but it’s become the norm rather than the exception.

The bigger issue, however, is payment transparency. Your cash register clearly indicates that American Express is accepted, yet when attempting to pay with Amex, staff claim there is a “system issue.” Let’s be honest, the issue isn’t technical, it’s that the owner doesn’t want to pay Amex fees. That may be a business decision, but misrepresenting accepted payment methods and putting employees in the position of playing dumb is not acceptable. I’m saying this as a business owner as well.

When individual desserts can cost $20, accepting all standard forms of payment should be expected, especially for customers like us who order somewhat regularly.

To be completely fair:
• The food quality is good
• The prices are exorbitant
• Not accepting Amex while advertising that you do is unacceptable

Ironically, if we order again, we’ll likely do so through Uber Eats instead of ordering directly, even though I prefer supporting small businesses. That means D Spot will lose a significantly higher percentage to Uber than the Amex fee you’re trying to avoid.

Rant over, but this is honest feedback from a repeat customer who wants to keep supporting you.

Ps I’m happy to change my review if the owner personally addresses this “system issue”

I have had over three bad experiences with this specific location. Most recently, over uber eats. Other times in person. Don’t waste your time here they’ll probably forget your order anyways. Or even cancel it.

Waited for atleast 15 min while they took our order. While placing our order the guy at the counter made such a bad face that he doesn’t want us to place an order. That feels so disrespectful. And he told us it would take 45 min to serve us that really disappointing.

Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.
Our order was taken by Amit, and he was on his phone the entire time — even while taking the order. It was extremely unprofessional.Ordering a large ice cream is also pointless because you don’t get different flavors or more variety — it’s the same ice cream just served in a bigger container. Other dessert places offer proper portion sizes and flavor options for larger orders, but not here. Overall, a very disappointing experience. Would not recommend

There is no way this is a 4.5 star spot. It took us 45 minutes to get 3 orders of funnel fries to go. Having arrived home, every order was wrong, and the food was uncooked & completely inedible. Save your money.

Have ordered from this place multiple times and I don’t think they’ve ever gotten a thing right. Everything is poor quality, takes a long time to prepare and poor taste. Expensive desserts and poor service. I ordered the funnel cake and they forgot the strawberries and the ice cream… that’s 75% of the item. Take your money somewhere else.
