I have gone to Bread Bar (now Bardo) several times over the years, and I’m always disappointed in the vegan options. 2 stars because they do have vegan options listed on the menu, but often these are either: 1) outrageously weird flavours (like the only vegan pizza), or 2) boring and underwhelming (cold slimy tempeh in a Buddha type bowl). They usually have vegan dessert which is better fare than the main options. You do have the option of making your own vegan pizza, but it’s not a great deal price wise (extra topping fees).

Decent pizza in Guelph! We tried the duck confit and Margherita with ricotta cheese pizzas. The duck pizza was good- the duck itself was super dry but I liked the flavor profile. There were crunchy bits of dried onions, white sauce, and these sweet Moroccan cherries on it - which really gave it a pop of flavor. The duck confit pizza also had whole cloves of garlic and goat cheese, both of which I love. The margherita pizza was also great and they allowed us to substitute ricottta cheese. The crust was nice and fluffy as well. Overall, the price was a tad high though.

Very friendly waiter, who explained the menu and was able to answer our questions

I really liked the decor here - I’d give 5 stars for decor, very well done. But the food was not good (particularly for the price), and the place was not very clean - had a strange smell. Service was good. Didn’t get to try the desert. Not sure if I will visit again.

The food was very bad, the flavors of the pizza were weird and ingredients were not well combined, the cheese was tasteless and the dough salty. The garlic sauce had a very weird flavor. Unfortunately, we did not enjoy the food. The service and atmosphere were good.

Super busy location, the staff are friendly, clean location, nice clean washrooms, the food was pretty good, my loaded fries were cold, but they were replaced quickly. pizza was super good and so were the salads.
Only gripe is it would have been nice of the waitress came back/by to see if we wanted a refills on our and drinks.

We´ve been visiting Bardo on Gordon Street since it was Earth To Table. While the location and ambience are delightful, two of our recent experiences left us disappointed. In these occasions, we ordered the apple pizza and ended up with stomachaches afterward. The first time, we didn’t say anything, but when the issue recurred, we called to alert the restaurant. Rather than acknowledge our discomfort, the client representative simply offered a free pizza—seemingly dismissing our health concerns. It felt like a surface-level solution rather than taking the time to investigate a potential kitchen issue or ensuring no other guests would be affected.

During our last dine-in visit, the service felt rushed: halfway through our second pizza, the server abruptly offered to bring a box to go—even though we were visibly still eating and there was no line of waiting customers. To top it off, when my credit card failed due to a forgotten passkey, the server laughed rather than offering assistance or empathy. These moments made us feel unwelcome and undervalued.

On the positive side, Bardo location is convenient, with a warm, inviting atmosphere. The truffle dip stands out as the best item on their menu—rich, flavorful, and well worth ordering. However, the inconsistent service and the serious food-safety concerns around the apple pizza overshadow these strengths. With better training on food handling, more attentive customer service, and genuine follow-through when guests report issues, Bardo could truly live up to its potential. Until then, we recommend caution when ordering certain items and encourage the management to address these lapses so that other patrons don’t share our experience.

I had a great experience at Bardō Guelph’s all-you-can eat a la carte and buffet brunch. There were enough vegan items clearly marked on the menu that I knew I’d be satisfied, but the chef kindly put together several other vegan small plates for me. I really did eat all-I-could-enjoy! Everything was incredibly delicious, but the vegan pizza on the buffet was probably my favourite. Really nice crust… and were those tiny red peppers?!

Dined there with my mother this afternoon and had a wonderful experience as always. Our server, Quinn, made our experience even more amazing, and was one of the best servers we have had at Bardō! He was kind, attentive, and had a great attitude!

What a fantastic experience! We enjoyed a delightful Sunday brunch. An all you can eat experience which features both a buffet table and “small bites” made fresh on order. Brendan and the rest of the crew provided only the friendliest and most attentive service. The food, delicious! Too many favs to choose just one, but the tapas style servings you can try them all! Highly recommend making a reservation for a table as they are busy. Can’t wait to go back.

Service crew and atmosphere are great. The price is at the higher end given that the varieties of food available are not that much. Hey, but the food is very delicious.

Its a lovely brunch place for our family.
