Golden Fish & Chips Kortright

I have come to Golden Fish and chips for years. The quality is reliable, the chips are hot and crispy and the halibut is to die for!!!!

Sadly the Kortright location is permanently closed. This has been confirmed by the Woodlawn location, which is still open and appears to be doing well.

Extremely disappointed! Web page states open to 8:30. Arrived 1 min after 8 and closed! Please change your web page to reflect hours of operation.

The food was great. The service was excellent. Victoria did a wonderful job of making my Mum and I feel welcome. I will definitely be coming back.

Great spot for fish and chips. Always a good amount and nicely prepared. We were told over a year ago they were renewing their liquor license. Still no beer available. Should have wine available too. Disappointed.

Was not expecting the interior with how the exterior looked, pleasantly surprised. The food was great! I got the 1 piece Cod with half fry and coleslaw (instead of full fries and a side coleslaw) and did not finish it, he got 2 piece Haddock, full fries, and a side of coleslaw.... he did not finish, left with a midnight snack. The coleslaw was creamy, the fish was perfectly crunchy, the fries were good too, and the tartar sauce had the perfect amount of dill to add flavour without being overwhelming. Read a comment while looking up fish and chips on another restaurants review saying "pay the extra to go to an actual fish and chips place" took the advice and had an excellent experience!

The re-heated French fries were disappointing in my take out meal. The fish was good but I expected fresh fries. I would have to think twice about ordering again.

Very friendly staff. I placed my order for takeout and they made it perfectly in time and the food was fantastic. So fresh and the portions were great. I would definitely go again and recommend that if you like fish, you must try this place.
