If there's an egg in your ramen, they give you only half the egg. They're literally back there, being so cheap that they cut an egg in half and then they give you half the egg and someone else the other half.
If you order an extra egg in your ramen, do you get half an egg? A whole egg? Crazy to cut an egg in half and keep it for someone else.
It having always been like that doesn't make it less ridiculous. Go to Kenton, more options and at least they don't give you half an egg.

I was really disappointed. I paid $20 for a vegetarian ramen bowl and it didnât even come with tofu, eggs, or any protein at all. What I got tasted like overpriced instant noodles with a few vegetables tossed in

A friend of mine and I were craving some ramen on a Monday night, so we decided to stop by Kenzo and kind of wish we didnât.
The menu is very limited in terms of vegetarian/non-pork options but thatâs fine. We ordered the creamy vegetable ramen and requested the addition of an eggâ menu reads âegg $1.5â. However, we were served half an egg, the waitress firmly confirmed that it would be $3 for the whole egg, despite the menu not indicating that at all.
Halfway through my bowl, I found myself biting on what felt and looked like egg shellsâ a serious choking hazard. I told the waitress, and she immediately picked up the shell out of my hand and said âthat must be tofuâ and before explaining further she walked away. She came back a few minutes later, offering a re-make. We requested and received a refund.
The restaurant is poorly maintained, with cheap wooden chopsticks and insanely high prices for sub-par food.

The Tonkotsu King hits the spot every time and the service has always been good.

We used to come here very often, but stopped for the below reasons.
The Waterloo and Toronto Kenzos pan fry their dumplings, which are much better than the dumplings they offer here. You used to fry them, but stopped because it took too much effort (what your own waitress said).
And you prioritize Uber Eats and takeout before attending to in-house customers. It was surprising to wait 15 minutes for service while the lady was answering calls and helping every Uber Eats/Doordash driver that came in. Customers eating in tip, and you don't need to share a portion of the profits, so why prioritize Uber Eats?
Also, don't sit by the windows. The staff never cleans the collection of dead flies on the ledge. So you get an audience if you eat there.
Now we don't eat here anymore. We just go to the other locations. It's out of the way for us, but much better in terms of service and food quality.

Restaurantji Recommends
Personally welcomed by congenital host who made recommendations for ordering. Host checked in two or three times to inquire how we were managing. The item ordered - whose name I forget - was excellent! Preparation, presentation, freshness, broth flavour and overall quality and quantity were all excellent. So superior to a burger and fries! Restaurant atmosphere a bit basic given the price - $48 for two, including tip. A hidden gem! This will be a regular.

Have come here a few times whenever dropping by Guelph.
- Prices have gone way up, quality gone down.
- Fried chicken was mostly battering and tiny piece of chicken inside. No seasoning, not even salt and pepper. Red you see in the picture is chillie flakes I added myself.
- Ramen pork bone soup has been diluted, very little taste of umami.
- But their Chashu pork is still one of the best I have had.
