first time trying this place and it was so good! we got the jerk chicken with rice and peas and the curry chicken with jollof rice - we were planning on the curry goat originally but they were out by the time we got there which is fair since they were closing in an hour or so. everything was cooked well and had a nice kick, lots of flavour! lady behind the counter was lovely, i can't wait to go back and try more

Great takeout place! Make sure to get gravy on your rice&beans. The jollof rice wasn’t too flavourful so next time I would recommend the rice&beans.
For 18.50, you get rice enough for 2 people, 1.5 legs of chicken and half cup of coleslaw. Everything good! The jerk was a tad spicy , comes with its own sauce. I got mine with oxtails and goat gravy.
I would ask them to NOT chop the chicken next time( because I found bone chips on my food). Alternatively,the restaurant could just separate the thigh and drumstick from the joint to prevent this issue all together :)
Daily deals until 230pm Owner/employee at the counter was super friendly and sweet.
Glad to have a place to diversify Guelphs cuisine in its sea of pizza shops and mediocre shawarma spots.
Would be back to try the other offerings.

I love supporting small businesses and I’m happy to see more African/Caribbean restaurants in town.
I’ve ordered the jerk chicken off Uber eats maybe ten times now. I’ve also ordered the oxtail a few times. I prefer ordering the jerk chicken than the oxtail because it comes with more meat.
It would be really good to see better quality control. Sometimes the chicken is really really dry and other times the chicken is really good and juicy. Once or twice I ordered rice and peas but got jollof rice instead. I’d say about 3-4 out of the ten times now, a side order of coleslaw has been forgotten. Overall I probably will continue ordering. The food tastes great!

Tried Mama Favourite Kitchen in Guelph and honestly—it’s the real deal. We got the jerk chicken with rice and peas plus cassava fufu and egusi, and everything tasted fresh, rich, and full of love. The jerk chicken had that perfect balance of heat and smoky sweetness, the rice and peas were soft and seasoned just right, and the egusi with fufu was pure comfort food—authentic, hearty, and full of depth.
You can tell this food is made with care and tradition. Portions were generous, and the service felt warm, like family cooking for you. Definitely my new go-to for Caribbean and African food in Guelph. Highly recommend. 🙌🏾🔥

1.75 chicken quarters, a lot of chicken and a lot of rice. The jollof is so good and actually - good amount of spice.
The atmosphere is very much family take out style.
The service was nice and welcoming.
Definitely coming back! Good to know Guelph has a good Jamaican/African food spot.

Wow!! We were so excited to find this new restaurant in Guelph - Incredible, savoury, delicious goat curry and fufu and eugusi soup! We saw a lot of TikToks about fufu, and eugusi, so we can finally try it - the fufu soaks up the flavour and melts in your mouth, yummy!
We will be back to try the oxtail curry (they only have it on Fridays) 😍💕 Mama and her partner are the jolly chefs of this delicious restaurant, it’s like having a warm home cooked meal! They just opened 3 months ago, so we’re happy to support a small business too, congratulations, and welcome to Guelph! 🥰🎊
