We went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. I had a Georgia peach to drink (2, actually, haha), and it was yummy if you like sweeter drinks. For the meal, we had grilled cheese with bacon. Nice and cheesy, and I like they use garlic butter on the bread. We had the lattice fries with it, I found them maybe a little overcooked as they were very hard to bite into and chew. The service was very slow. We had to flag someone down who wasn't our server to get us some water. It took almost an hour to get our food (2 grilled cheese and a burger). I didn't feel they were that busy, our server did tell us at the end they were down a cook in the kitchen. I think that should have been advised up front.
It's the longest I've ever waited to be served, I was too hungry to eat when the food finally came. The food 🫣
Absolutely unacceptable experience.
We waited over 40 minutes for our order at McCabe’s in Guelph while watching multiple tables who arrived after us get served first. When we asked the server politely, she brushed us off saying, “The restaurant is busy.” That might be a valid excuse if everyone was waiting equally — but that clearly wasn’t the case. It felt like we were being deliberately ignored. This kind of treatment raises serious concerns about discrimination.
If you’re a person of color or expect basic respect and fair service, I’d strongly suggest thinking twice before coming here. Extremely disappointing and upsetting.
Friendly service .. Fresh Guinness !!
Completely unwelcoming, never seen such pathetic service and lack of hospitality. Servers all need basic training on how to welcome customers. Arrived, didn't get acknowledged for close to 10 mins at the door. Not even a hello, how's your night going?
Was finally acknowledged and my phone number was taken with a promise to call me back after 5-10 mins with a table ready. Nothing, no phone call.
I went down the street for dinner. Lost a customer.
A first experience here and it does have an Irish Pub & Grill vibe to it. The food was pub fare. Beer on tap with some friends and you have an experience. Prices seemed reasonable as well. Try it out for yourself. Enjoy.
GBABO had our annual social. Shout out to Dino for organizing the event.
Alex was great!!
A bit dark and old decoration. I didn’t like it
Our hostess Alexia was a pleasure to be around! She was so kind and welcoming, and made sure we were taken care of.

Nice atmosphere.
my score is neutral in terms of 3 stars.. I never did get a chance to enjoy anything other than the exterior..which had some prettty people just hanging outside trying to draw you in... she was offf the charts A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I would go again just to see if it was truth or the lack of sleeep induced delusions i was having around here.. but yeah wings n things!

Great food, excellent service, and reasonable drink prices at McCabe’s Bar and Grill in downtown Guelph! Their trivia nights on Wednesdays are a blast—highly recommend for a fun night out!

The service was great. The server was friendly and checked up on us regularly. We were there on a Friday at 5. Not too busy. Got the appetizer platter. The wing sauce (Maple) was great. The wings themselves were dry and did not taste good at all, I likely wouldn't order them again but otherwise, everything else tasted great. I had the Caesar. Very tasty. Nice place with a great atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Would visit again.

made me wait outside for a spot for 1 hour to later say they can't take me anymore despite making a promise.
