Wow is all I have to say!
We were told to check out the Ruben sandwich here.
I phoned ahead to be sure not only a special day sandwich. They were glad we had heard and said it was available every day.
Arrived about 11 on a Wednesday. Three fantastically friendly ladies in the kitchen. Went with my mom, who is in her 80s and announced we were having the Ruben’s. They immediately asked if we had called. Wonderful welcome!
Had a seat at a table. There are around 6-7 tables. Most patrons were doing takeout and it was immediately busy. Good sign we are thinking!
Sandwich arrived. Served on a real plate no plastics here lol. Awesome Ruben. Loaded with meat, homemade marble rye, perfect balance of sauerkraut and sauce just the correct amount of spicing.
The deli gets busy so come early or for a late lunch. If you don’t, don’t fret, they move fast!
Upon completion they expedited my mom in her 80s to pay, as mom wouldn’t let me lol!! They navigated her to the POS system and helped her with the system even though they were busy. That’s service with more than a smile.
Gave mom two cookies to go … can’t promise that during your visit but mom will be back with her girlfriends now.
So awesome sandwich, clean deli with extra special staff.

BTW super convenient for truckers, workers and travelers, as it is just off the highway with tons of parking

Quaint little deli - exactly what I was looking for! Had Montreal smoked meat on marbled rye. Meat was chewier than I’ve had at other places, but that’s not a complaint - it was delicious. They threw in a cookie for desert! I’ll go back anytime I am in the area!

Old Fashioned Deli went above and beyond to meet a request. The owner took it upon herself to deliver soup, sandwiches and desserts to a family who had just lost a loved one. The family was so thankful and really enjoyed the meal. Thank you, Old Fashioned Del!!

The best homemade soups and sandwhiches ever! Today’s broccoli soup was seriously comfort food and soul healing. On top of that, the women behind the counter are the best, so kind and funny. Love it here

If you're a fan of sandwiches, never go anywhere else. This place is insane. It's fresh, it's tasty, the service is incredible and it's better than the sandwich I could make at home. That's s very large statement. If you like pickles, I'd say this has a lot to do with it.
Pro tip. Order a side of Hungarian salami (add to sandwich🥪) , mustard on the side so the uber eats doesn't get soggy and voila! Kiss those sub restaurants goodbye !
