I had a risotto and it tasted so authentic. My husband though had pizza but didn’t taste italian really.
Generally the food is good. The atmosphere is cozy but i would say a bit too dark.and there was sth like an air conditioning unit which had a very loud and distracting noise from time to time which is not sth you expect in a restaurant in that level.

Amazing top tier Italian restaurant with delicious dishes in an intimate setting. The interior is in a 2 story building that is dimly lit and nicely decorated. The food took a while to come out but it was worth the wait. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The pizza and pasta were very tasty and nicely portioned. The desserts were also fantastic.

We recently celebrated a milestone birthday there. The food and drinks were wonderful. All the pasta dishes were cooked perfectly. My favourite was the gnocchi. Our platter appetizer was really good. The pickled grapes on the platter were out of this word. Best thing I ate all night. Our waitress was great as we were a large party.

Got the dinner date for 2 and they were very accommodating. Both my girlfriend and I don’t drink alcohol but they let us swap the wine out for mocktails. The food was very good but smaller portion sizing. I would go again!

Sugo on Surrey is a cute little Italian restaurant that has a house layout. Entering the facility we were greeted by a kind hostess. Once we sat down we did wait an extensively long time when the restaurant was mostly empty due to a snow storm. I will also say the waitress also seemed in a rush and was just kind of jittery with us. I also wanna take note of how annoying the music was. It would be a lot more fitting if they had background noise piano playing but they had folk playing and it was very annoying. To start of the Caesar salad was perfection as well as the other salad we got which I don’t know the name of but is in the photos attached. We also started off with the Nonna’s meatballs which were dry and lacked flavor. For the main I ordered the pollo. The chicken was phenomenal but the mashed potatoes it rests on could’ve used more flavor. Their pastas are fresh but I didn’t quite care for the spice to flavor ratio on the one my sister ordered which is also pictured. Overall I would come back to try the pizza and more pastas but the service was just really underwhelming.

Delightful experience. Warm and cozy dining setting; Friendly and welcoming service, but a slightly less scripted approach could give a more personal touch to service.

Food was great; perfect portions, quality sourced ingerdients and lovely presentation.

Really appreciated our visit!

Visited Sugo on Surrey last night for the first time, and the food was divine: filet done to perfection with a delicious mushroom puree, mushrooms and potato croquettes. There are a number of other delicious looking offerings to sample next time, and there will definitely be a next time.

I went to Sugo with a friend who had previously spoken very highly of it, so expectations were high. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to what’s shown on their Instagram or what we were hoping for. The food looked nothing like the photos and arrived warm at best.

A specific example was the bruschetta. Online, it’s pictured as a plate of neat, substantial cubes of polenta, but what we received was a series of 1 cm-thick slices of polenta that seemed to be one cube sliced into five thin, flat pieces. For $24, the portion was shockingly small and deeply disappointing. The price felt completely unjustifiable for what was served.

Service was also underwhelming. The experience felt rushed from the moment we sat down, and our server came across as pushy and abrasive, which made it difficult to relax and enjoy the meal. To make matters worse, a 20% automatic gratuity was applied to our bill for a table of six on a quiet Wednesday evening. Given the level of service, it felt like the gratuity removed any accountability: we were forced to tip as though the experience had been exceptional, when it very much was not.

My friend was genuinely embarrassed that I had travelled to Guelph for this meal. Sadly, this visit fell far short of the hype, especially considering the high prices. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant.

Food was excellent. We visited for my brother’s rehearsal dinner and I ordered the ricotta gnocchi. It was soft, perfectly cooked, and paired with an impeccable sauce. The only downside was that service felt a little slow, and we would’ve appreciated servers checking in more often for drink refills.
