Me and my family have been here a couple times before. It is DIVINE. we were just recently back for my birthday and it was wonderful, as always!
The atmosphere is wonderful. We were on the second floor, the stairs are a bit steep, so it was a bit of a struggle for my grandmother, but said stairs are very wide, so there was lots of room for us to help along side her, and keep most of the walk way open.
They wwre trying out a new fall menu, and its just as good if not better than their standard one. I would highly recommend this place! Its classy, but not outrageously expensive, and has a gorgeous ambiance. Perfect for events, date nights, or even just if you're feeling like treating yourself to a nice dinner.

Very noisy, service was extremely slow and the food was mediocre. Pizza was soggy. Calamari was ok and the pasta was good.

Dined st Sugo's one year ago. Disappointed that there was no lettuce salads. Last night however, October 7, 2025. Pleasantly surprised. Awesome Ceasar salad with no pork. Thank you. The Best surprise was Spencer our server. Big shout out. His sense humour matched my family's. Spencer was histerical. My face hurts from laughing. Thank you for the wonderful food and entertainment Spencer. We will be returning.

I know this is classified as an Italian restaurant but I had the tenderloin steak.
This was by far the best steak I have ever had! The meat melted in my mouth and it was so refreshing to have a steak that wasn’t over salted in an attempt to bring out the taste. Veges were perfectly crisp and whatever they do to those potatoes should be illegal as they somehow stayed hot and were delicious! The service was lovely as well and my food came quickly even though they had a large group to attend to.

My boyfriend and I went to Sugo on Surrey for our 2nd year anniversary. The atmosphere was incredible, and the service even more so. Our waiter, Ben, went out of his way to accommodate my allergies and go over what they could and could not tailor for me. We had the seafood linguine and pizza - absolutely delicious!

Super Meh...
Cool building & cozy decor, loved that it had parking, service was good (not great), loud inside.
Food was extremely bland and meh. The meatballs were great but other than that it was really bland and not very exciting. Really not worth it for the price. Tasted like I could have made it myself / pizza tasted a bit like out of a box.
We went here for a special occasion and ended up leaving disappointed. I don't know if we just ordered the wrong things (pesto gnocci, chicken pizza and tiramisu) but it was underwhelming at best. Not bad, but far from good.
Such a fun and unique restaurant close to downtown Guelph. I have been here a few times and I have always left satisfied. The food is great. The first time I came here I got pizza which was phenomenal and the second time I got a smoked salmon dill pasta of sorts which was definitely a first and very yummy. They have some great diverse options. Our service was great the first time we came here and the second time it was a bit slow but we were compensated for that without even asking which is customer service at its peak. Will definitely come here again !
Amazing food. Been here multiple times, everything was always great, the experiences were awesome.
This place has become a favourite for us. We’ve recommended it to friends and family and they’ve enjoyed it as well. All of the staff are always incredibly nice and the food is truly to die for. This is always a go to for us when we’re wanting somewhere to go out for a nice dinner! Everything we’ve tried is delicious.
Great spot with authentic italian food. Love ambience and good service. Parking in the back.

Always delicious. Good vegetarian options.
10/10 as always. Spring menu is so good!
Went for New Years Eve fixed menu dinner, never felt so ripped off in my life. No prices anywhere on the menu. Bill came to $420 for 3 people (they included 18% for "large group")
My kid is lactose intolerant, the waiter said he "thinks" the appetizer is dairy free but he'll "check". He didn't check, she got sick 5 minutes later. He didn't remove the appetizer from the bill. He also brought her a dessert with dairy and said "your dad can eat it". The dessert was a lemon tart with a dolop of whipped cream on the plate to look fancy. Charged us $20 for each dessert. The monkfish was cold. The Steak frites were something a child could make, cost $50. We had to stop on the way home to get fast food because we were still hungry.
DO NOT COME HERE. You've been warned.

I was very excited to be dining at Sugo on Surrey for the second time on NYE. Last year was a bit more expensive at $125 pp (unfortunately, I was double charged for the intermediate meal last year as well and didn’t notice until the next day) compared to $80 pp this year, but it was absolutely delicious that I wanted to go again. However, it was a bit underwhelming this year especially with their steak frites main dish. To state it simply, it was about as good as a dish you could get at a bigger chain restaurant. The other dishes were fantastic though! The servers here are very friendly and provided a great service.

We were excited to spend our NYE dinner at Sugo as it had great reviews and we love Italian food. They offered a set menu for the night which was advertised as $80pp. When we got our bill it was up to $95pp when we inquired with the waitress she said it was because we were eating between 4-9, the $80 price was for reservations outside of this time frame. This was the first time I had heard of increased pricing for time of dining and it left us feel gouged. The $80 price was already on the pricey side for the offerings. Food was just ok, took a long time to have it come out and when it did it was all luke warm at best, my husbands grilled octopus was actually cold, when we asked the server about it she said it was to contrast between the cold tomatoes? …Felt like she really just didn’t care and just brushed us off. We also had the burrata it came with only one very small piece of crostini to accompany, For the exaggerated price tag I expected more for this restaurant.
