Was really looking forward to going here. Based on the reviews and being new to Guelph it looked like a good option. But will not go back. I try to always support a non franchise business but going out to eat these days is just brutal. Ordered a few apps, 2 came out together and 1 later. The later one had something on it that clearly was asked and acknowledged not to. No time to send it back before the main would have come. Nachos barely had cheese and half of it was all the end of bag small useless crumbs. Between the 4 mains, 2 people said it was ok and 2 of us did not like it at all. Actually had no taste. Wrap had almost no chicken in it. Opened it up to find enough very small pieces of chicken to make maybe 1 chicken nugget. It was presented well and was warm but I guess for the price today what can you ask for. Prices are cheap compared to most so maybe some people just like the low quality because of the low price. I can understand that. Just not our thing. When we go out to eat we expect it to be tasty. Service was overall ok. Had a pop refill given from a jug instead of bringing it to the fountain…… it was totally flat. I don’t like leaving bad reviews but it was just not a great experience overall.

I just heard about the new management at Shakespearm. It was very busy on Saturday, the foods served a little bit longer but our server kept checking and explained that the food will be longer than usual because it was busy. At first i feel nervous but when we got the food our family realized that’s why it’s busy two things price are descent I can say very reasonable than the other restaurants and all our foods are delicious. Kudos to the servers, manager and support staff who were keeping things coordinated under pressure while maintains the speed non stop for over three hours. It’s so sad to see how there were treated by some people and how unbelievably well they handle those situations with smile. Leaf server is amazing while trying to help others on top of what she was doing. That’s shows why people keep coming in through the door. We will come back to try the chicken wings. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

One of the cornerstones of Guelph, this place has been here since the dawn of time. My family and I frequent this place regularly. I must say that in a city where the taxes are up 8% year over year, its nice to find a place with solid food and provides great value. Ram the owner is a great guy and always makes sure we are taken care of. This place can get quite busy in week3nds and sometimes the food can be a bit of a wait. Its well worth it though. Last time Ram gave us a piece of cake as a thanksnfor out patience. Highly recommend supporting this local mom and pop shop is a sea of franchises and crappy chain restaurants. Thanks for the great food and service time and time again.

We attend Shakespeare’s often. They have good food for a good price. Tonight however we had a terrible experience, we went to enjoy a birthday dinner and were immediately told by the table beside us it would take more than an hour for food so we should be patient. Knowing this we waited without expectation until the “manager” came up with no smile and an angry look and all but threw our food at us. When we let him know as he ran away that we asked for side sauce he turned to us and shouted “ok! I know!” We told our server Kailey about this terrible interaction and not only would she not give us the managers name to protect his privacy she wouldn’t get him for us. The manager who we found out later was a part owner named Aki was hiding in the back- we know this because many servers told us so. It’s a bit disturbing that Aki not only hid from us but also sent Kailey to do his dirty work and also that she agreed. We’re thankful to Olivia for being the only kind one to us. After waiting for quite some time for Aki to come and speak to us Daneeka (spelling?) told us that the meal would be comped and just to go. I find this quite embarrassing for the owner. I was once told that the least you can do is the least you can don

Didn't get the food even after an hour. They say they are low on staffs yet open for the big rush. The new management seems pretty bad at doing business. Never come here if you want quick bites and beer. Such a waste of time.
