Aberdeen Tavern was seperately recommended to me and my friend so we met here for a girl's night. We assumed that with a small menu, everything would be good so we relied heavily on our lovely server Jenna G. to help us narrow down our choices.

We shared the calamari and beef tartar and both were excellent. The chimichurri with the calamari was especially delicious.

After hearing that the duck comes from a previous employees family farm, I chose that and was blown away. The duck was perfect and the kale was really over-the-top delicious. My friend had the branzino and similarly loved it.

On choosing our dessert, I said I want anything but key lime pie, but Jenna came over and raved about it and our girl had been steering us right all night so we ordered that to share. It was worth raving over, and finished off the meal perfectly. The smoked crust was different but so lovely and a welcome update to a reliable classic.

The signature cocktails we had were delicious and my friend's tequila cocktail had a flower in it, which was a fun surprise.

All in all, a lovely evening. We left full, happy and sleepy. The chef deserves their name on the menu alongside the GM, everyone did a great job.

Nice place, and very attentive staff! Menu is only a few choices but each are very good - the example of quality over quantity.

We had an amazing experience at Aberdeen Tavern! We stopped by during Novemburg, where restaurants were donating proceeds to Movember — such a great cause.
The burger was absolutely delicious — a handmade patty topped with candied bacon, cheddar cheese, and crispy potato strings on a soft brioche bun. Perfection!
We also shared a few appetizers: the vegan spinach and artichoke dip and the ricotta and lemon ravioli — both were outstanding. Every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor.
The service was excellent too — our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and very attentive.
Thanks to the Aberdeen Tavern team for a wonderful night — we’ll definitely be back!

Ate there last night with a group of six. Four of us had the Novemburger. Simply put the burgers (all four) were almost inedible. Thin, overcooked, dry, with a distinct burnt taste. Not just one, all four.

Honestly one of the worst burgers I’ve ever been served. Seriously disappointed, won’t ever be going back there.

Not my first visit, but by far my worst experience. Order something else, the burger is terrible.

First perspective..Red Seal Exec Chefl .past member of The Escoffier Society...Food Service Director for 19 years (I have a fairly good idea of restaurant operations) we were a party of 4 quietly celebrating a 60th birthday and recent quad heart bypass..a very big night for us. The server was amazing . the food was absolutely incredible.. the resturant beautiful.. good drinks, great appetizers to start .. the perfect dining experience.. well almost.. we began with drinks and a great tasting baked feta.. what a great chef some of the best tasting food. Service was impecible we had just finished our mains and had our dessert menus presented. As we decided on our sweets and dessert drinks. We were told that the manager told our waitress that they needed our table for a group of 17 that was coming and we had 20 minutes to finish and leave.when we got a little upset we were told we could sit at the bar. We are all in our 50s and 60s that wasn't an option and we were quite disappointed with this situation we had hoped for drinks and dessert.
This review has no refection on the service staff or food. OUR ENTIRE NIGHT was ruined by manager who felt empowered enough to tell us we were finished our night for no reason other than he overbooked. I pray he has a stake in the business because he certainly shouldn't be running it. And he should have kept the friends and family discount and his lame emotionless excuses because we won't be back.
Regretfully because the service and food was very good and I was such a huge fan of Jerrett and Jason's endeavors

A hidden gem in Hamilton. We were in the neighborhood looking for a light late lunch and came cross Aberdeen Tavern. Service was the best, we will return for a full dinner plans.

A delightful place, very cool vibe for dinner. Nice combination of an inventive menu with lovely old school architecture (wood and stone). Great service. Dont be fooled by the “Tavern” in the name - so much for than a tavern

We literally live down the street but rarely come here after being disappointed again and again.

A nice room and patio but some painful drawbacks.
The pricing is quite expensive compared to the very disappointing portion size of the majority of dishes.
The Flavour is there but it lacks in value for what you get. Most dishes we’ve ordered have tasted good but we always leave hungry. How can a restaurant skimp in a pasta dish or a side of fries. They cost next to nothing and the owner should be embarrassed to serve these portions.
Another shortfall is the dining room has a fireplace that doesn’t work or at least is never turned on and would be a game changer in the ambiance department.
Lastly, the menu is far too limited, missing some simple dishes that would add to the offering but not a large expense to the kitchen.
2.5 stars.
