I went there for a retirement party. Food, service, and ambiance were great. I would go there again, happy to have found this restaurant.
Wonderful meal and space.
Visited for Mother’s Day and Betula had a price-fixed menu at $28 per person. This is a reasonable price for a special occasion, however, the food and portion size was incredibly mediocre. My husband ordered the buttermilk pancakes which included two pancakes, a dollop of whipped cream and a very sad helping of compote. I ordered the eggs and home fries and it was really nothing noteworthy. All the food was also being shared with a toddler. Once served, we were not checked in with. The service to begin was lovely, but we were one of two in the main dining area and there was perhaps another family in the back area. Additionally, in the reservation, a dairy allergy was listed but no inquiry was made to accommodate our request. The Pouding Chomeur was a highlight.
Tasty food, good portions, average price. The booth benches are very uncomfortable, which could be improved. Apparently the Shanti my mother had was pretty bad. Our server put up with us well.
The first time I came here for dinner, the food was fantastic. On my second visit for lunch, it wasn’t quite as impressive, but still decent. The main dining room has a cozy vibe, and the open kitchen adds a nice touch. Their fried chicken is excellent, and the beer list features a great selection of local options. Parking in the lot next to the building is a convenient bonus.
Went for lunch, staff were incredible! I ordered the pulled pork with side of fries. Nowhere on the menu did the pulled pork say there were pickles in it, there WAS and I hate pickles and the fries were mushy, greasy and cold. Overall I was very disappointed with my meal and I probably won’t for back.
Tried this place for the first time.
There is some free parking in a private lot and some street parking. Also, a pay lot across the road. There is an accessible entrance into the restaurant, and the washrooms are on the main floor.
The food was very good, lots of choices were very tasty. However, the portions were a little on the small side. Prices were fair, and our server was great.
They also had gluten-free options for pasta and a bun if you were having a burger or sandwich
Bethnal burger was fantastic

Excellent Schnitzel and butternut gnocchi. Also a very interesting and tasty corned beef and sauerkraut egg rolls. Large portions for the schnitzel.
Parking: The restaurant wants you to take your time as the meals are all prepared fresh so it is not “fast food”

We had our work holiday lunch at Betula the other day. I can’t speak for the price but the ingredients of the food are top notch. Everything is super fresh and you can tell that they put efforts into making their food. The waiter asked me how is the potato and leek soup. “It is so good that I want to steal the recipe!” Chef’s kiss!!

Restaurantji Recommends
We hosted our company's Christmas party at Betula in their "Garden Room," a private space at the back of the restaurant. It comfortably accommodated our group of 18, with enough room for appetizers, gifts, and easy access to their TV for a slideshow. The menu options were excellent, the food was delicious, and the service was fantastic. I highly recommend it for a private function!
Dietary restrictions: They were able to offer various options for gluten allergies.

Looking forward to something new
It was a varied menu and open kitchen is a good sign to me
However it was very busy as like ourselves many people going to play afterwards
The wait for food was very long
Glad we gave ourselves plenty of time
My friend had pasta dish and it was salty
I had chicken saltinbocca and it was very dry
Corn bread and maple butter to die for
Wait for bill was very long
Noticed fries going back as not cooked and a very angry person asking for manager near us
They need more cooks
Two cooks were soooo busy
Don’t plan to go on a Saturday night again
I was disappointed in my choice of the beet salad. It was the size of a side salad, but priced as a meal at $16.00 with only a few pieces of beet and very little cheese. My friends had meals, burgers, sandwiches etc. that came with fries or salad at the same price, which they enjoyed. Because of my choice I had plenty of room for dessert, and it was delicious.

This was our first visit...We were Not very happy with or experience..Our Dinner for four was ok, not much to rave about....wine is over priced and the food didn't provide any sort of notion to return to this establishment.
Now the bad part half way through our meal my wife and I spotted a black hair in her salad, I also had shared it with her...YUK ! the server was alerted she apologized and said she would take 50% off of the the burger...hmm that seems a little odd we didn't have the manager Express there apologies for our gross encounter.
Not going back.
Despite how busy it was the food was great and service was friendly. Will be back again
