Beyond The Batter Bakery

Went in to get a few things to bring as dessert. I asked to have the brownie cut in half. She proceeded to butcher it with the BACK OF A PLASTIC FORK! I asked her if she had a knife and she replied by saying she did in the back but didn’t want to wash it! I can’t make this up! $19 for two cupcakes and a brownie and no class to cut it with a knife! Never again!

After leaving my initial review, the owner reached out personally and handled the situation with genuine care, professionalism, and generosity. She reviewed the interaction, took the matter seriously, and made a sincere effort to make things right.

While my original experience was disappointing, I truly appreciate the way management responded. It’s clear they value both their product and their customers, and that kind of accountability matters. I’m confident this was an isolated incident and look forward to returning for a much better experience.

I’ve been driving a fair distance for years now to get my cupcake fix at Beyond the Batter. They have been, hands down, the number one bakery in the GTA. My last visit however was disappointing. My usual favourite is the Midnight Craving flavour and this time I can taste a distinct difference in the frosting - there’s no chocolate flavour; it tastes like pure icing sugar and water. The color is also much lighter than before. The cake part of the cupcake remains delicious. I hope that with all the rising costs these days that this isn’t one of the things that is being short-cut!
Curious to know if anyone else has noticed this?

I've been to Beyond the Batter a dozen times in the last few years and they continue and consistently provide quality goods and services. In particular I would like to spotlight Candice, who has been a kind and easy to speak to person. She has recognized my needs, given valuable feedback and never rushes or pushes her patrons. All of my peers, staff and friends have enjoyed Beyond the Batter and I hope to enjoy it for decades to come. Thank you Candice.

I purchased cupcakes for my son’s class as a treat. One teacher said it was the best cupcake she has received. The students were asking where we got them! I got myself a ginger cookie sandwich. Delicious! Big enough for two! Highly recommend.

***update 10-20-25 i reached out as requested on 2 occasions vis email and received no response***

I can't speak on the quality of the product at the stoney creek location but for the 60 seconds I was In the shop, I felt like I was intruding and annoying then lady working there. I asked if theres some birthday cake or cupcake options, she said no not if I didn't book one 3 weeks in advance. I told her just looking for 6 to 8 cup cakes for my sons bday, maybe say happy bday on a disk of chocolate on top of the cup cakes, again seeming very annoyed she responded with she has 1 baker, there not here and no icing to do this. This was all in about of 1 minuite of being there. Normally, smaller business's want their community support and will a more consultative approach to help a customer with their needs but not here.

I simply went to sobeys, asked the same thing, put together 8 cup cakes , added a meringue disk, wrote happy bday and I was off. Easy anf friendly process, but not here!

I been there a few time nice a fresh they have a bit there but nothing special about it half the cupcakes taste the same not much flavor with the cake mix just over priced cake about it $4.50 for one alot should be more like $2 maybe $2.50 ea

I just wanna give beyond the batter a big thank you today is currently my birthday and I was so happy that they had the birthday cake, cupcakes in stock. Their cakes are delicious and they never fail when it comes to their flavour and texture. Super happy with my purchase thanks again beyond the batter.

I've purchased cupcakes here several times because someone in my family is allergic to nuts, and this place is nut free. Super appreciate being able to get a safe dessert to bring to get-togethers. I think the cupcakes are good but they are nothing special. They're usually just a basic cake with basic icing, regardless of what flavour you get they all taste super similar.

These vanilla birthday cake cups are incredible. I've tried several flavors, and they've all been delicious. They stayed fresh for so long, I had one for a week having a bit here and there. (My dog is obsessed with them) $10. Each, so worth it!

I don’t even like cupcakes but these are just insanely fluffy and delicious. Amazing flavours as well

went in for some cookies and came out with cookies and muffins! Cookies were good. I bought a chocolate chip & peanut butter cookie, but the fancy muffins were just perfect!! so soft and moist with just the right amount of frosting, I'm going back for sure :)
