I’m really disappointed with my experience. For starters I was overcharged. On their website it says the egusi soup costs 18.99 however, I was charged $36.01 which is crazy. the food quality was extremely poor. The egusi and pounded yam tasted off, I had multiple people try it and they nearly got sick none of us were able to eat it. On top of that my bowl was only filled 1/3 of the way.
I reached out to the business by email to give them a chance to respond and resolve the issue, but I never received a reply. Mistakes happen, but ignoring a legitimate concern about pricing and food quality is not acceptable.
Based on this experience, I wouldn’t recommend ordering from here, and I won’t be returning.

This is the most useless Nigeria restaurant in Hamilton. I ordered Edikaikong soup from them, but they delivered Spinach soup with 3 tiny meat instead. The soup is so dry, no dry fish, no stock fish, no crayfish etc. how can a Calabar restaurant use spinach as alternative for Ugwu 😡.
My recommendation: DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM

Food is food, but charging so much for a plate that can be recreated with the fraction of the cost is outrageous for the customers. This business will not remain open much longer if this is the state in which operations proceed.

I’m very disappointed with my recent order from Calabar Kitchen. The egusi soup was undercooked, had a sandy texture, and lacked any flavour. Its appearance was also unappealing although my phone camera made it look better than it actually was, the taste told a different story.
This is not a dish I could proudly serve to my non-Nigerian friends as an example of Nigerian cuisine. Unfortunately, both plates ended up in the garbage. I truly hope Calabar Kitchen takes this feedback seriously and works on improving the quality of their food.

The guy seemed honest that the soup was made yesterday when I asked him . The soup itself was highly disappointing , bitter taste , not okay at all … I poured it into the dustbin . Waste of time and effort . My advice is only sell what’s good . I know sometimes food turn out as unexpected , keep that experience away from your customer .

Food was almost edible, unfortunately the egusi you can tell was old and mushy. Unfortunately, they gave me pounded yam preserved in a plastic shopping bag, which Absolutely turned me off completely.

Please, if the egusi is expired, do not sell it. Usually I have no problems ordering from here. But today I was very disappointed as I opened the lid and the egusi was stale and had a bad smell. I am giving 3 stars because I believe this is rare for them to make such an error.
