Their pasta selection is great especially to those who are vegetarian. It was unfortunate that their pizza oven was not working. The drinks were also really good and my family really enjoyed our time at Caro.

Food was fantastic . We picked Caro for the pizza & unfortunately the oven was out of service wish we had known prior to our reservation. Very accommodating to the allergies at the table - something for everyone . (Gluten & dairy free). Was not able to order certain beverages as there wasn't enough available.

Server was excellent, she explained that they were down for select draft beers due to a special event in Hamilton over the weekend which is very kind of her . She was very helpful and helping us select our meals. And she was very gracious throughout the evening . It was my wife's birthday and she offered a dessert as well which was very nice!

Literally the worst food ever. I’m so upset I had to pay for that. “House made meatballs” literally frozen meatballs. The vodka pasta tasted like really bad Mac and cheese and the noodles were hard. I expected good food for the price. Very disappointed. My stomach hurts.

Disappointed. We got two pizzas, Margherita and Prosciutto. My guest’s Prosciutto pizza was supposed to have roasted figs on top, while she got scoops of figs jam instead. We did not complain as she though it was her fault to haven’t read carefully the menu so we carried on. I tried it: to my Italian taste jam was spoiling the otherwise good pizza, overly sweet. I later checked the menu: it said “roasted figs” indeed, and even the instagram account has a picture with real roasted figs on top. The worst is nobody told us beforehand they’d put jam instead. Very, very disappointing. It ruined an otherwise good dinner and I am debated if going back again. Real pity for such location.

We had a lovely Saturday night dinner at Caro! We had the carbonara, ricotta gnocchi, polenta fries as an appetizer and a Caro Spritz cocktail. The stand out was the polenta fries, I’ll be back for those! I thought the portions were generous, the food was delicious, nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

We love Caro! The food is always amazing! The kids waffles are fantastic. We went on a Saturday for brunch and made reservations because we thought it was going to be busy. It was not busy. I feel sad for anyone who doesn't eat here because they are missing out. The breakfast pizza and basil aioli is what my dreams are made of.

Brunch was being offered when we visited. The atmosphere and decoration are lovely, giving the place a nice cozy vibe. Enough natural light to give it a bright feel.

I ordered the caprese sandwich and my friend ordered the omelette. Both came with salad.

A portion of my salad greens were wilted and the kitchen offered a complimentary dessert. I enjoyed the tiramisu.

They have some non alcoholic options and the one I ordered was delicious, refreshing ginger and lemon.

Love this place!
I was so sad when the Main Street location in our neighborhood closed, but the food is just as amazing at their other spot across town. Totally worth the drive—same great quality and flavor we’ve always loved!

Caro on James is a solid spot for a casual night out. We tried the pizza, salads, and a few appetizers—everything was good and enjoyable, though nothing particularly stood out as memorable or next-level. The flavors were well-balanced, and the ingredients felt fresh, but it didn’t quite deliver that “wow” factor.

The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, making it a great space for casual hangouts with friends or a laid-back dinner. If you’re in the area and looking for a reliable place with decent food and good vibes, Caro does the job. Just don’t expect to be blown away.

A larger location than the one on James Street. Has some intimate areas where you can have a smaller group of 10 to 15 sit together.

Great food. Excellent flavours. Beautiful atmosphere--lively but not noisy. Patio at the front is really pleasant.
