A great pub for after work pints and food.
Great spot close to the GO Hamilton stop downtown. If you need to wait for a train or having a nice date night after a long train ride, perfect spot. They have live band evenings and events that you can attend, a good patio as well. Parking isn’t too far if you can’t find street parking. Food is good, quick service and the usual pub grub. The staff are very friendly and the patrons seemed very welcoming,
I enjoyed my time here :-) Free downtown parking is non existent lol
Well, if you love Rock n Roll, there will be some every Friday afternoon 11:30-3:00 you get a chance to see, hear, even ‘shake hands ‘ with stars like ‘Dave Rave’ (80s glam band Teenage Head and lead singer of (The Shakers — go listen on Apple Music) be part of the audience during ‘ Shake It Up’ series of interviews. Chris , owner and chef knows his Fish n Chips, best I ever had .
Good food, service.
Music available weekend and Friday starting at 9pm..
Great location, cosy atmosphere
We threw my mom a 60th birthday party here and it was perfect! The staff were amazing the food was great. The party room is great for hosting parties. They are very family oriented and let our almost two year old run freely. Great place to go! We will be back!
They have definitely made massive improvements in the kitchen. The food that is coming out is absolutely delicious. Aunt very hearty portions. You Gotta check it out.
We are her on a Tuesday night and the bangers and mash are on special. No bangers and mash available. Nor liver and onions. We were just served COLD NACHOs
Used to come to the old cat and fiddle before it closed. When I heard it reopened with new owners, I had to check it out. A little late to the party but I have to say, they’ve done a great job at trying to resemble the old, but also bring in the new! Didn’t realize it has already been open for 2 years! Had great conversations with the bartender Kenzie! She really brought me back to my youth. Amazing service, very on point and detail oriented with what I was looking for, recommended the special that night, along with her preference of how she gets her own food. Never once saw her big smile leave her face, great attitude, made me feel like I was back at the old cat again. Give this girl a raise!
Some of the worst fries I've ever had.
Update: 12/24
There's new owners so it's possible the food has changed too. But there seems to be limited selection of beers

The service was awesome and so friendly, but the cat and fiddle isn't what it use to be where we were sitting the wall was banged up didn't look very nice a simple plaster repair and a quick coat of paint wouldn't take much, but would make all the difference in appearance,
As this place does serve Guinness, I hope the bartenders learn to pour Guinness properly. There is a particular way to do so.
Had a fun night but a very challenging layout to see live music.

Love the Cat. This evening I had the best pub chicken curry ever. There’s some serious talent in the kitchen.
Not great, terrible service, pub was not busy and waitress took forever to even attempt so serve our drinks. I will not be back as all bars on Augusta street have better service.
