This was my second time at Ciao Bella and both experiences were super positive. We didn't have a reservation so we ended up being seated at the bar. Our bartender/server Taylor was really friendly and made sure we were taken care of even as she busily made drinks.
All our drinks were delicious, we had a Burro Amaretto, Pistachio Sour and an Italian NY Sour. The first two are rich and decadent but not too sweet, and the NY Sour was bright and refreshing.
We both had the Chicken Parm this time, my wife altered it to be served with pasta in Alfredo sauce which unfortunately ended up being quite peppery but it was still good. The Chicken was delicious and all the pasta was cooked very well.
The vanilla gelato we had to finish off the meal was a really nice texture and flavor, the texture was somewhere between soft serve and a harder ice cream.

Ended up serendipitously at Caio Bella on a Friday night. We had tried to get reservations the week before, but they were booked. We arrived close to 10:00pm and were seated by Paula quickly. Jimmy was great. Although he seemed disappointed, we didn’t go for the Super Tuscan, he was friendly and engaging. We were told that the restaurant was about a year old. Upbeat, modern décor with a downtown Toronto vibe – well done Hamilton! Because we suffered through a bad meal at another bar in a different area closer to McMaster University, we only ordered appetizers. The octopus, arancini and meatballs were off the chart. I don’t think you can get better octopus in the GTA – they certainly gave the Afalfi coast a run for their money! A great cannellini bean preparation with an Italian Sugo that would bring a smile to your Italian grandmother’s face, punctuated with a incredible salsa verde. Although they called it a verde, I didn’t taste cilantro but have a new appreciation for what I think was simple flat leaf parsley. Wow! The meatballs were delicious with a silkiness in the middle – again amazing.

Amazing experience! We walked in and saw the Doug and it all made sense, gorgeous decor, fabulous drinks, delicious food and outstanding service. If you haven't tried it, go .... NOW! All of the Catch Hospitality restaurants are great, you won't be disappointed. We toured the event space (with 2 large patios) and beautiful, classic decor. If you have an event coming up, put it on your list to consider. We will be back, soon!

I will never have enough wonderful things to say about Ciao Bella. Their staff are so professional and friendly, the food and drinks are delicious and the atmosphere is nothing alike anything else in the GTA - it's THE spot to be.
The Penthouse Event Space is gorgeous. As a business owner in the Wedding Industry I have seen so many event spaces, but this is truly one of my favourites. They paid attention to all the little details to make this venue as lovely as it is; the lighting, the food, the staff, the atmosphere. I am always thankful when my couples book at this venue because I know they are in the best hands and will be able to really enjoy their day. If you are wondering if it's the right place for your event - let me assure you - BOOK IT!

I’m always fearful of going to a restaurant midweek ( in this case Tuesday) and it being nearly empty. Makes me wonder about food freshness etc. Well that was certainly NOT the case here. This place was jumping on a Tuesday night ! The decor is nothing short of stunning. The food was super creative and delicious, this place is a foodies paradise. Our server Hannah was on point. I can’t wait to go back for an encore.

Lovely staff and probably the best gnocchi I’ve ever had. The meatball starter was incredible- came out fast and hot, beautifully flavourful with a delicious sauce. The truffle gnocchi was absolutely sublime, and their pizza dough is perfectly soft with a crispy bottom. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Beautiful restaurant, outstanding service. Cocktails were incredible. BUT the food was extremely rich. The caesar said was good but extremely rich and had too much dressing. I will return because I would like to try other things on the menu. But they definitely went overboard with the dressing on that caesar salad. Pasta was also a bit rich for me. But if you like rich food, this is your place. Very friendly staff and that's what made the experience better.

What a wonderful place to enjoy great food. You almost forget that you’re in Hamilton the minute you sit down at your table. Melissa was a pleasure to have serve us. She knew the menu and the food well with some great suggestions. We stared with the Arancini that had amazing texture and such a smooth taste. The sauce was so savoury and delicious. They could have easily used it with any pasta. For the main I went with the Linguine All’astice. The shrimp and lobster were cooked perfectly and the sauce was rich and creamy. I think I would have been happy with anything off the menu. Wonderful place for a date night.

Rude staff. Called them 6 times over 2 days during open hours before someone even answered their phone. When someone finally did answer it was a very curt and snappy hello, no introduction, no name, no thank you for call so and so restaurant. Just rude snappy hello as if what the heck do you want. Also unhelpful and questions not answered. Need to train their staff better. Will be finding somewhere else to go.

Appetizers were the artichoke dip and charcuterie board for two. Both were very yummy! Appetizers are both very generous in size and quite lovely for taste and presentation. For our main course, I had the chicken Parmesan with fettuccine Alfredo as my pasta. It was absolutely delicious and the serving was more than generous in my opinion, especially after the appetizers we had. My husband had the lamb saddle. He absolutely loved his lamb.
We did an early dinner at 5 PM on a Friday night so it’s hard to judge the atmosphere as it was still daylight outside and that made it a little more less cozy. But by the time we finished dinner, it was dark outside and it was very cosy in there with the special lighting they have

Jenn and the entire team at The Penthouse by Ciao Bella went above and beyond in every way to make our wedding absolutely perfect. From the stunning venue to the seamless flow of the night, every detail reflected their care, thoughtfulness, and incredible skill.
Our cocktail-style reception was such a hit, everyone loved how unique and interactive the evening felt! The food was incredible, the bar ran flawlessly, and our guests can’t stop talking about how beautiful and memorable the night was.
It wasn’t just about the event itself, Jenn checked in on us throughout the evening, made sure we were fed, had drinks, and truly made us feel supported every step of the way. We couldn’t believe how smoothly everything ran, and by the time we got back to our room, everything was already packed up and taken care of! We can’t recommend The Penthouse by Ciao Bella enough!
