The atmosphere matched the quality of the meal: warm, inviting, and comfortable, the kind of place where you can relax and enjoy yourself without feeling rushed. But what truly set this visit apart was the exceptional service. Our server, Patrick, was outstanding from start to finish. In a world where genuine care can feel increasingly rare, Patrick is a refreshing reminder that there are still people who bring heart and sincerity to what they do. He was attentive without being intrusive, and kind in every interaction. You could tell he wasn’t just doing a job—he truly cared about making our experience special. Patrick’s professionalism and warmth made the morning quite remarkable, and his presence alone would make me return. When you find someone like that in the service industry, you remember them. Disappointed with Service and Food Handling at Cora Restaurant (Upper James location)
We recently dined at Cora with high expectations, but unfortunately, our experience fell short. As vegetarians, we made it very clear to our server that we do not consume any meat, eggs, or fish. When our nacho grilled cheese sandwiches arrived, we were surprised to find large pieces of chicken in one of them. We politely asked for it to be remade without chicken, only to have the server return within minutes, claiming the kitchen had freshly prepared it.
Upon closer inspection, it was clear that the chicken pieces were simply removed from the sandwich, as one sandwich still had chicken left in it. This was incredibly disappointing—not only was the food mishandled, but it felt disrespectful to lie to us, assuming we wouldn’t notice. Mistakes happen; I understand this as someone who has worked in the restaurant industry. However, honesty and respect are key, especially when it comes to dietary preferences. I hope the restaurant addresses this issue for future diners. It's safe to say that we will not be returning to Cora ever.

Service was great, me and my friend were being a bit of a pain because we hadn't seen one another in 6 months so we barely looked at the menu when the server came the first 2 times. Food was so tasty, my smoothie and cappuccino were delicious. I got the crepe with sundried tomatoes, Benedict sauce, olives, chorizo and halloumi cheese. A bit on the more expensive side for a breakfast place but worth it.

Myself and my hockey team were recently in Cora's for breakfast and had the most wonderful experience. Our server, Patrick, was extremely attentive, friendly, kind and caring. He went out of his way to make sure each and every member of our group was cared for, especially those with significant celiac allergies. The food came out quickly and was very tasty! Everyone left full and happy. We were even offered complementary fudge on our way out. Highly recommend this location. Everyone agreed it was the best experience that we had during our trip. HUGE shoutout to Patrick - what a fantastic person!!
