I went there specifically to buy sourdough bread because it is made authentically using the proper fermentation and hydration process. Lisa was extremely knowledgable and helpful and helped me understand the different breads as well as I was interested in buying a starter and she explained that to me very well too. I was impressed with the store because a lady was trying to get in the door with a walker and someone ran right up to the door and helped her, somebody else was being helped by another employee and the place was clean, neat organized, and a really nice bakery. Besides breads, they had treats that were baked as well as scones that you could bake yourself and a number of cheeses and all kinds of goodies.

We were recommended Dear Grain Bakery from a friend. We were in the mood for some sourdough bread and we couldn’t have found a better place. There was a very nice selection of freshly made breads to choose from. The service was great, very helpful and very kind. The prices seemed reasonable, we got two country style loaves and a pre-cut loaf for 30 bucks. Not too bad considering the quality of this bread was amazing. Very crunchy crisp outer crust with a perfectly soft, airy center. Definitely worthwhile checking out Dear Grain Bakery, if you are in the Hamilton area and looking for some fresh made sourdough bread. We will definitely be back to try some of the coffee and baked goods.

I ordered one pain au chocolat and one flat white! Flat white was amazing, coffee quality is top! The croissants great but a bit too buttery for me!

I looked up Hamilton bakeries looking for bread and this Dear Grain came up. I went today for the first time and I'm sure to return. Oh my goodness the buckwheat (gluten free) chocolate cookie with a hint of salt on top was hard to eat s l o w. I'm assuming I met the owner who answered all my questions. Thank you. I look forward to eating a piece of the sour dough bread.
We have not bought any other bread since discovering this place!! Every week or two we stop in to pick up a couple loaves. They also make the BEST croissants!! They rank in my top 3 bakeries for croissants EVER (including all of the places I've tried in France)!!! The staff are always so lovely and the place has wonderful vibes :) highly highly recommend!

Great bread but service today was not very good. Please server you are not doing customers a favour. No one there and yet you ignore us. Also just smile and try to serve even though you may not want to be there.
