Dim sum house used to be amazing but ordered today, and they cut the portion sizes alot. 70 bucks and I'm still hungry. Very disappointed. Great food but with these portion sizes now, it's just not worth it.
I NEVER GIVE ANY PLACE A REVIEW. 2 days ago my girlfriend and I. When we entered the restaurant, the staff only asked, “Do you have a reservation?” and then walked away without informing us whether we could be seated. After 5 minutes, we were shown to our table and started ordering, but it took 15 minutes for the first dish to arrive. While we were ordering some additional items, the manager came to our table, took our order on an iPad, and logged us out. We mentioned that we were still ordering, and she logged us in again—but on the wrong table, which we only realized later.
Not wanting to use the iPad any longer, I asked her to add an extra bowl of congee for me. Ten minutes later, they brought 2 bowls of congee, even though I was certain I hadn’t ordered 2 bowls since two people can’t possibly finish two large bowls. I believe her mistake in logging out and then logging in on the wrong table affected our ordering process. We spoke with the manager, but she insisted that everything was done correctly and that we had ordered on our own through the iPad. We received the congee, but they didn’t bring us any spoons. When we requested one, they brought a single very large spoon meant to be shared between two people for two bowls of congee.
We are truly DISSAPOINTED with DIM SUM HOUSE, even though it has a 4.4-star rating.

The place is ok, maybe I didn't make a good choice of order, I had never eaten the dish that was ordered, but I found it kind of dull, there was no salt and little protein (seafood).
The service could be better

Wow this placed surprised me with how good the food was!
Only complaint is prices are a bit high and service toward the end of the meal was slow.
I found the Singapore noodles too oily and the squid tentacles overcooked, but everything else we tried was as delicious as other highly rated dim sum places in other cities.

Very good dim sum! Servings are smaller than I’m used to, and prices are at the high end, but most flavors are excellent. This place has all the choices, including frozen, make at home dim sum: I’ll be trying that next time! The shrimp in rice noodle could have better tasting sauce: it’s not bad but not great either. The pieces of Vienna sausage in the sticky rice were displeasing: they were large and not the mouthful I’d want from a good sticky rice. The ‘footballs’, as we call them (taro we call ‘hairy football’ from the fragile fluffy tempura type coating. The mixed meat ones we call sweet & sticky footballs. Lol) were VERY good! We had pick up: I’m looking forward to dining in!

Long wait time for dining in, and the food feels like pre-made dishes. The vegetables were just boiled with some soy sauce added. Not recommended.

Food was ok but my stomach hurt and got diarrhea right after

Food was under seasoned and blend. The restaurant was empty even though it was still lunch rush time. My GF is Chinese and agreed with me about the food quality but though the space was not Asian designed and uninviting.

Saved ourselves the drive in to Mississauga or Markham this Sunday, by stopping in at Hamilton’s own Dim Sum House downtown.
Ordered the usual suspects on their high-tech iPad self-select menu in English with photos to illustrate - shrimp dumpling (ha gow), shao mai, pork peanut and chive chiu chow dumplings, spring rolls, taro fritters, beef rice roll, steamed pork buns, pan-fried pot-stickers - and a dry-fried soy beef chow fun, to test their noodle offering.
Disappointing rice noodle roll (the beef filling was way too processed and had a slightly sour “off” taste to it 😝) while the flat rice noodles seemed to have been reconstituted from dry, and not fresh from the refrigerator section of Asian markets. However, quality of the sliced beef was good, seasoning on point: flavourful not overly salty. Would recommend staying away from any “rice noodle” items on the menu. All other selections were comparable in standard 👍 to other Chinatown locations across the GTA.
Overall, a worthwhile visit, especially with gas prices these days!

Food quality has substantially reduced from the last visit a couple of months back. Dim sums are not recommended now.

Fried cowboy bones are completely bad and stinky. You can't eat them. Fooling customers with expired food. And the food was served very slowly, with a mandatory 15% tip at the checkout and no advance notice to me or my friends.

Food ok. Restaurant could be cleaner. Clogged bottles of sauce, grubby I.pad. Toilets need a good clean.
