I honestly don't know what's wrong with this place. I guess the manager doesn't know how to run a business. THEY HAVE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!! I would not advise going to the upper James location. While there, a woman who works there threatened to call the cops on myself and my fiancee for literally no reason. We were having a conversation... Either way, that threat was a HUGE over reaction and certainly not needed. Then when I spoke to the manager on the phone later, he mentioned something about us not giving them a tip... OF COURSE THERE'S NO TIP FOR THAT KIND OF BEHAVIOUR AND LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE!! WILL NEVER BE GOING BACK THERE AGAIN... don't wanna go to any east side Mario's anymore... It used to be my favourite restaurant and I've been a regular customer there. But it's seriously gone down hill. I've never experienced such horrible service at any restaurant before!
Had Rose as a server. It wasn't very busy, maybe 5/6 tables. The three of us got all you can eat soup salad and bread. We finished our first bit of food after about 15 minutes and then proceeded to wait another at least 15 minutes with empty plates and cups waiting for her to come around for a second serving. At which point she had to write down what we wanted so she didn't forget and then forgot to bring more butter with the bread and our drinks for an additional 5 minutes. Then we didn't intend on tipping since it was not a good service experience but when we got to the tip menu she was basically right over my shoulder and said did you want to give me a tip which made me feel pressured to do it. We will be emailing as well since this was a really terrible experience. I know that she is older, and I feel bad complaining so much, but truly sitting there with nothing but empty dishes for over 15 minutes before our server even comes to the table when the restaurant isn't even busy is unacceptable.
