My new go to for jerk chicken on coco bun. Was absolutely delicious. Tender perfectly Spiced meat, no weird bits - soft bun - sweet slaw, accompanied with a cold Irish Moss drink👌would love to hear Jamaican music playing instead of bland radio 🤞🏻

I have been looking for a good roti in Hamilton close to home and I tried Ellis Kitchen on Ottawa st for the first time today and I found as soon as I walked in the smell of delicious food filled the air. The staff are friendly and the service was great. I ordered the curry chicken roti and 2 mild beef Pateys . I was not disappointed the roti was Exactly what I was hoping for. I will return to try some of the other wonderful dishes they have on the menu they all looked so good as I was waiting for my order and watched as they prepared other people’s orders.

Ellis Kitchen has just moved to a new location, and it’s great to see them settling in. The spot is mainly set up for takeout, but there are a few tables if you prefer to sit and enjoy your meal there.
I tried the oxtail with rice and peas and the jerk chicken with white rice — both were flavorful and well-seasoned. The oxtail was tender, though I found that the large plate didn’t feel like much of an upgrade from the medium, so next time I’d stick with the medium unless sharing.
They also sell Jamaican patties, both fresh and frozen. I sampled the spicy beef and chicken, and they hit the spot. Prices are decent overall, and the flavours were on point, though most dishes leaned toward similar jerk-style seasoning notes.
They also have soups available daily, which is a nice touch. Overall, my experience was good — hearty food, authentic flavours, and friendly service. I’ll definitely be back to try more.

I ordered Saltfish and Callaloo I couldn't even finished it I almost had to go to the hospital from food poisoning I've been throwing up all of last night and am still throwing up this morning and am feeling very sick I am about to call them up & ask if they're trying to kill their customers I would NEVER order or recommend this place

I bought a dozen fried dumplings for my son who was visiting because he like his dumplings. I tasted one, it was horrible. He and his friends had some of them but to see half the order left on the counter was a shock. I contacted the restaurant, they said sorry we can’t offer a credit or anything. These dumplings cost $2 each. This is a Jamaican restaurant using premix ingredients to make this authentic Jamaican food. Maybe this is the new thing but I won’t be ordering here again.

Real Jamaican food. Love everything on the menu. All the staffs are, polite, welcoming and pleasant. Very fast in preparing your food. The environment is clean and welcoming. The only thing I would of really want, is to try, their Jerk Chicken on a Grill, with that smoked, flavored taste. Still great, tasting Jerk Chicken.
