If I could give less than one star I would. As someone that works in the industry, I was extremely disappointed with the way this bartender carried herself. You could automatically tell that she was very much intoxicated, and could no longer work properly. Extremely rude, condescending, and overall uncomfortable. I wish I was the only one that had this feeling with her but, unfortunately when I finally had enough, stuck up for myself and others, and told her that her current actions and attitude ruined the vibe and were genuinely making people uncomfortable and leave, I had not one but two or three people walk out behind me and agree with me. It’s super unfortunate because I genuinely do like farside, but this girl has now ruined my view of it. The other male bartender that’s there majority of the time is great! We like him, and I will return when he is working. Other than that, I refuse to be served by her anymore. I have been a bartender for well over 10 years and have NEVER seen someone act the way this girl did tonight. I myself have never acted the way this girl did, even if I had difficult guest that I didn’t always agree with everything they said on. Your job as a bartender is to leave your crap at home and do your job!!! People like this are ruining the reputation and business for your business, by portraying this type of energy and attitude on shift. I would love to speak to a manager or whoever that is above, so I can return after working a full busy 8 hour bartending shift and wanting one drink before last call. Please respond asap, thank you.

2024 has been spent here. I've never felt safe at a bar until I found farside. New years eve I had a few more shots than I should have and when a cab left us at the bar the owner offered me a ride home and women around me made sure I knew the man I was leaving the bar with even though he was my sober bf and we both have dreadlocks so everyone typically assumes we're together anyway. I have never worried about leaving my drink unattended at this bar, I know it wont be bussed before I'm done, and I know it wont be tampered with because I can typically see my drink through the large windows out front and the crowd of regulars are good people. It's a rather busy place on weekends and is popular throughout the week but still intimate. The music can be rather hit or miss some nights as it depends who's controlling the volume and how many voices are in the bar but the ambiance is always on point. I've made many friends here because it's just a safe place for everyone to have a good night out.

We went during the high tide(happy hour) and had the most amazing cocktails. Stephanie was our host and she did a great job recommending us good drinks and helping us. Would definitely visit again and recommend anyone who wants to enjoy a fancy cocktails.

Our favorite bar in Hamilton. Smaller bar, but typical for the neighbourhood. Accessible with a wheelchair/mobility friendly washroom. They have a large gallery-dancefloor style area in the back which is great for more standing room and to check out local artists. The owner hosts events sometimes, which brings in fun crowds. We like that we can dress up, or be in a relaxed mood, and still have a blast.
Great selection of craft beers and cocktails... Try the Willibald Purple on tap!!!! Awesome Happy Hour "High Tide" (6-8pm) prices, and prices in general are great. Truly amazing value for a bar on James St N.
Bartenders are awesome, extremely knowledgeable, inclusive, and great at making sure everyone feels safe. Special shoutout to Steph, Andy and Andrea.. they are possibly the best 3 bartenders in town.

These people tried to intimidate me. The owner of the establishment threatened me physically, and then pretended like everything was OK. Afterwards, I was told that I'm not allowed into the bar due to my "argument" with the owner.
Keep in mind, this "owner" had threatened me physically, and when I told him that I would not allow him to do so, he then pretended as though nothing happened.
There has been a conspiracy against me from this club from then to make sure I am ostracized from any neighbouring bars, as they all work in tandem with each other.
Do NOT recommend unless you are OK with being mistreated and not welcomed if you are not a "Hamilton local."

Special shoutout to the Extreme Casual Magic nights, Mike does such a great job cultivating a fun and welcoming community. Highly recommend for a fun night out!

No alcohol in my cocktail.
I ordered the bootsely cocktail and it tasted like water with no booze. I honestly think the server forgot the vodka. Also my partner's cocktail didn't have any booze in it either. For spending $30... the music was very good though
