Waited at a table (seated by hostess) for 30 minutes with only 8 other people in the restaurant and after being told a server would be right with us twice - left before speaking to a server, did not even get waters. From somebody who works in the service industry I am usually fairly tolerant, this was an embarrassing lack of effort and care. Went to the East Sides next door and had a lovely experience. Night and day difference.
Closed. Merged with the Italian place next door. Signs and everything still up.Staff said it changed hands in December. Very disappointed.
Place is no longer Fionn MacCool’s. It became all East side Mario’s. Just found about it after we sat at the table and the menus came.
Served an uncut pizza. Saucers for plates! Waitress interrupted our conversation 4 times during our cocktail to ask for our food order. In the middle of eating she again came and asked if this was on one bill or individual! All in all was not impressed. Probably not returning.

Walked in one half is EastSides the other Fionn MacCools, went into the Fionn McCools side. Waited 5 minutes to be seated. Got a table and were handed menus for East Side Mario’s. Looks like the signage out front is incorrect now and the Fionn MacCools no longer is here. If I wanted east side Mario’s that is where I would have gone. Lack of notice to patrons and a rude waitress is unacceptable. Won’t be back that’s for sure.
Brutal service. Only one server/bartender available who would stay behind the bar and ignore the door. Another couple walked in and was never ushered to a table or acknowledged. They sat them selves, got up and left shortly after. No signage to inform people to sit themselves. Very limited menu.

4 out of 4 visits were slightly disappointing but this last one makes it our last time here for a meal. Here’s why... hubby wanted to treat me to dinner out on a patio after a long day at work. Buskerfest ruled out downtown patios so we went to Fionns.10+ minutes after we were asked to grab a table - no server, no menu.I went to the bar to grab menus and ask for waters. When meals finally arrived... No cutlery. We grabbed some from another table. Note: less than 10 people were dining at the time.Crab and shrimp roll looked nothing like menu pic that had full size shrimp. (I’m quite certain the bits of shrimp I found were from a can! )Server asked in passing how everything was. I said -meh, ok. No follow up.We never did receive water.Management better start staffing better or star rating is going to continue to slide.
horrible service! waited an hour for food and it tasted horrible. i understand they are understaffed but this place is a joke i wouldn’t recommend anyone going here.
Lunch at Fionn MacCool's was great! Food was excellent, service was quick, and the restaurant features lots of TVs for gamedays. Would recommend.
We were in your restaurant Sept 2nd today. We sat in the 1st booth by the window. 2 ppl ordered chicken fingers one with salad ,lettuce was mushy, one with fries very overdone. My husband had Shepard pie which contained very little meat and dry potatoes.Again his fries were over cooked I had the club rap again mushy lettuce but otherwise quite good Fries over cooked.I killed 13 bees at our window the waitress was not concerned I used your plastic menu handed it to her after she put it on the table beside us even though I told her about the guts all over it.The meal cost 80.00 dollars and we left no tip.It was disgusting Needless to say we will not be returning

HeatherAt Fionns Dundas University plaza always greets you with smile and asks how is your day going. Heather heck’s regularly on table makes sure all is good . We always try to be served by her. And always says when you done enjoy rest of your day that’s reason we go to that location .
The food was good but it's the staff that makes this place! A great vibe, selection of drinks and a tasty menu.
1 piece fish and chips, plus a 2 piece fish and chips for pick up $42.00 Greasy fish and tiny cup of tasteless cole slaw. The one star is for the hand made fries. Avoid this place for food.
Went for lunch; place was empty for lunchtime. Had a table outside; chairs and table not wiped down. Ordered lunch; no fish and chips (on a Friday, no less). I ended up with fries and a lemonade. The fries, what there were of them, arrived after 30 or so minutes, and were cold. Waited another length of time, and had a new order. Very stingy on the fries; I think they counted them. Apparently a dessert is given to a customer who is having a birthday. This very old, stale "brownie" came to the table. Not edible. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Absolutely awful.
Stay clear of the "new fry cook" if you can. Fiance ordered chicken fingers, but was given 4 of the kids size fingers, and luke warm at that. After I called out how chinsy the amount was, the waiter explained they had a new fry cook on the block and brought out a plate of 3 bigger ones which was nice, and they were piping hot compared to the first batch. Once we got home, she started vomiting and had sharp stomach pain all through the night and into the morning. You do the math on that first batch of chicken fingers. Won't be coming back here!
