Halibut House Fish & Chips

the pricing is ridiculous 15.95 for one piece of battered fish and it was mainly batter asked for sweet potatoes fries got regular fries. coffee was awful so strong. my hubbie had 22.00 meal with a grilled fish no bigger than 3×3 and a garden salad mainly Lettuce one piece of tomatoes and 3 pieces of red onion. never going back!!!!

at the markham and kingston road location in Scarborough, The male server was very rude with my family on family day from not allowing us to chose the table we preferred although the restaurant was empty, to rushing us to order, to acting surprised when i asked the dishwasher to get his attention to clarify my order which was placed at the table when i was in the washroom. The fries were very hard and not tasty. For 21$ a meal this is not the service/customer treatment, or quality of food one would hope for or expect. It seemed he was giving an ungrateful attitude for our business. He even said "dont come back if this is how you behave" when i called him out on rushing us to pay, when i let him know i will pay now but not be rushing myself to finish my meal at any point soon. I tipped very miminal, because it actually felt like he didnt deserve a tip at all for his unaccomadating , impatient and impolite attitude..Good luck. I really hope this location does something about the poor customer service skills of this man, because this isnt a new issue. He was rude and unaccomadating last time to even a few years ago, this restaurant wont be able to stay in business very long if they treat all customers in such an ungrateful manner.

Absolutely garbage! Found hair in our food. Disgusting! Ever hear of a hair net?

Been here so many times and the food is always fresh, warm and freakin delicious!
And the servers are very helpful and kind. Keep up the great work and kudos to the chef! Great team.

It's a very nice clean place, I bring my uncle here for dinner or sometimes he takes me out. Staff are friendly, but sometimes the portions are big and sometimes they're small. Depends who's cooking.

the fish is great, good size, not a lot of batter and crisp, the fries you get a lot, no salt added, which is great, add your own. cooked nice and crisp, specials on Sunday and Monday and Wednesday, easy pickup, forget hutches, for the price and size, you get fish not batter, for our hard-earned money.

Privately-owned. Great place for food. Excellent staff. Very clean. But price seems too high. $23 dollars for halibut fish and chips. Wish it could've been less. Still a good place to eat.

I grew up in the U K where "fish N'chips" were the norm.
This place is a fantastic place for fish and chips.
The battery is great, fish cooked to perfection and service fast and pleasant ?.
Restaurant is spotlessly clean and nice decor.
Will be going again for sure.
