First time ordering from here. Thought I’d try it since I heard they were having their birthday special. The fish and chips were good. The order of shrimp (3) and scallops (3) for $17 was a joke but nothing beats the robbery of their “large” coleslaw for a whopping $8!!! To top it off the container (the size of a Ben and Jerry’s ice cream) was 3/4 full. Absolute joke!If you're running a promo, you should plan and manage your time accordingly instead of making your customers who have placed an online order with a specific pick-up time wait for whenever you happen to get to their order. When businesses are blatantly gouging their customers and to top it off lack in the most basic customer service skills, I'd much rather go elsewhere.Response to Owner:After reading your response my opinion of your establishment is reaffirmed. You are under the assumption that I am unaware of the cost of raw materials and therefore justifying your cost to the consumer. $3.20 per seafood is gouging, especially for what I got today. As far as the cost of your coleslaw, it’s laughable that you would try and tell me that $8 for a partly empty tub is acceptable. Thank you for taking the time to lecture me on the cost of food.

We stopped there on Thursday and had their special, what can I say, flawless ? the fish was a light batter,the fries were good ,and slaw was also fresh and creamy, the tarter sauce was your typical white sauce,no sir, this sauce was a nice refreshing change,it was all gone on the three filetes of fish, and the shrimp was of a good size Definitely have to stop there again and try something different ?

We ordered pick up for 5:15 yesterday (the 6th birthday celebration). Usually when we order for pick-up it's a super fast process, but because it was the birthday we expected to have to wait a little bit.At 6:15 I went inside to check with a few others who had orders that were supposed to be ready within the 5 o'clock hour and it appeared that they weren't making our orders yet and had moved on to orders. The woman behind the till apologized, gave us a buzzer, and said it should be ready soon.At 7pm we still didn't have our food so we went to check again. Another customer with the same name came in to pick up a 7:30 order and when I said that was also my name is it possible that it was my order from 5:15 the looks on the staffs faces made it clear they'd forgotten the order again. We got our food around 7:30 with a weak apology. There was still another person waiting for his food that was supposed to be ready at 5:45.I'm not sure what happened yesterday, but it had really put a bad taste in my mouth. It was clear that they were understaffed, but the lack of organization and lack of prioritization when the staff was made aware of the people who were still waiting for orders from hours ago was really disappointing. You shouldn't have to check to make sure your order is being made when you've already paid and you have a confirmation.The only apology we got was a 'sorry' and the offer of a coke while we waited. Honestly, I would have preferred a refund by the time I was done waiting because I was that frustrated.I'm giving a 5 star review because I've had great experiences previously, but yesterday was extremely frustrating.
Our very first visit to Hammerhead's! Thank you for the delicious dinner for 2 special of three pieces of Icelandic Cod, fries, huge delicious coleslaw & awesome tartar sauce. It was $29, and we could not eat it all. Your business will need to expand once everyone knows about this little secret on Ottawa St.N.
