Hammerhead's Fresh on Locke

It’s nice to visit a true fish monger. They are knowledgeable and were helpful in suggesting a type of fish for dinner as well as how to prepare it.

I ordered a poached lobster, Digby scallops, huge tiger shrimp,Dungeness crab and halibut. It was absolutely amazing and delicious. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back. Scott was very helpful.

Great name, that’s about it . Needs some work to be the best in the hammer. Use lard or beef fat , instead of crisco, or veg oil, for frying. Change your oil, all your chips are soggy and burnt, travel see what fish and chips are in Australia and England and bring it home. Even the fish, I can’t tell is it a batter or is it breaded , because it looks like both. Then you put it in a box, why , so it streams and whatever pathetic crust is on the fish is now in seconds a spongy soggy mess. There a reason you wrap fish in paper . You have the potential of being awesome get to work folks

I go to them usually once a week to grab Ahi Tuna - never had an issue with quality - always the best.

My husband and I were walking our dog on Locke St when we saw a sign saying they had poké bowls! Honestly, best poké I've had since moving to Hamilton. I've tried 3 other places, and this poké bowl was hands down the best. Fish was fresh and delicious - also from British Columbia ! Worth the price for a tasty, quality meal and great customer service as well!

I couldn’t be more impressed with how well managed this place is.I initially had an issue with a previous experience here but ownership was nothing but courteous and professional to go over and above to make it right. I’ll be happy to be a long time client moving forward.

popped by to get 20 oysters for dinner as we were looking to find some quality oysters in Hamilton to shuck at home. Sadly came home to more than half of the oysters being frozen and just ice inside. Perhaps the fridge they keep them in is too cold or there needs to be a greater barrier between the ice the oysters are kept on to make sure customers aren’t coming home with frozen icy oysters.The blue cheese was good though!

We got the Poke bowl for lunch and it was delicious. This is a take out only place but the service was excellent and the food was freshly prepared, very tasty, and a big portion size. Highly recommended!

I must say, their food is 10/10 perfection. I had a question and sent an email after closing hours, Scott responded SO quickly and gave me all the answers I needed. Please go try their lobster, coleslaw, and potato salad! Thanks for the email lol

Bought mussels and their homemade Acadian chowder. Mussels were fantastic, great texture good briny flavor. And the Acadian chowder was worth every penny, lots of fish in it, extremely good
