This space brings the vibes. I loved the basic b, I wouldn’t have hated a bit more vinegar tang but that’s a me thing. Looking forward to trying another delicious sandwich from there and perhaps indulging in a jar of pickles or at least one on a spear!

The Bagel was delicious, the salmon was delicious, the cream cheese was delicious. I don't think you'll find anything better this side of the skyway. The owner is a great guy too, really friendly and fun to talk to about whatever's on your mind.

This place feels like a core part of the community even though they haven't even been here that long, I hope they stick around!

Edit: Also, not really their fault but the city needs to put in some got dang bike racks here!

Tried the smokie dokie and it did not disappoint! Each bite was a punch of flavour, had to come back for more. Josh was amazing to chat with, such a caring and genuine owner!

Exquisite bagel sandwiches! They really care about the flavor and quality of their food and it shows.

I was so excited when Joshy's moved into their own shop only a short walk from my favorite places on Ottawa St. The cafe is small, but it's comfortable and there is some seating outside, as well.

The staff is welcoming and they really seem to appreciate their customers, it's always great to have a little chat while you're waiting for your sandwich to be lovingly assembled.

Josh made me a smoked salmon bagel. As a guy who eats a lot of seafood, I must say it was an incredible meal!

BEST BAGELS EVER!
Comparing to Toronto, New York and Montreal, these are my fav.
Doughy in a good way, great crust outside.
Perfect !

This man makes the best cured fish and cream cheese bagel ever! The bagels are baked in house, and he makes his own flavoured cream cheese. Try the scallion cream cheese, it pairs soooo well with the cured salmon and trout he makes. He uses 4 different cures: pastrami, beet, Maryland (bay seasoning ) and a lemon dill i believe. Go for the lemon dill salmon its amaaazing! He also makes a dill cucumber salad that goes well on a sandwich. You can also buy the fish, cream cheese, bagels and other toppings so you can make your own sandwiches at home!

The market location was definitely better. The new spot feels overrated. Ordering was difficult/painful with the young staff, and my bagel came plain — no onions, no cucs? The pickle was soggy and tasted like it had been frozen and thawed (again). Overall, very disappointing given the cost.

I found this deli by accident and bought a few items to eat which was delicious. I haven't purchased a T.Shirt as it looks like a jewish lox and bagel emblem. Go Israel !

I'm a lover of bagel's and cream cheese. I'll drive to Montreal just to get my hands on fresh St. Viateur.

Let's me tell you how absolutely stoked I was when I heard there was a new bagel place opening up nearby.
I wasn't ready.

- Bagels baked in house.
- Smoked and cured fish in house
- Cream cheese from local farmers
- An owner that may not have been from Hamilton originally, but has the Hamilton Community spirit naturally.

Joshy's Good Eats: Your soon to be new Bagel spot in the Hammer and likely one of the best bagel sandos you'll have ever eaten.

* * * THE BAGELS * * *
There are 6 bagels for you: Plain, Sesame, Poppyseed, Everything (my favourite), Cinnamon Raisin, and Pumpernickel (available only on the weekends).
The bagel crust is something to dream about. The chew and bubble of a well-made sourdough (looking at you Dear Grain), but with a slightly sweet and tender crumb on the inside.
Just biting into the bagel is a dream in and of itself.

I'm ashamed to say that I've never eaten anything other than an everything. It's too good. The grains of salt in the blend are a perfect foil to the slight sweetness of the bagel inner and truly add a level of luxury I wasn't expecting. (Joshy you're too good to us!)

* * * THE CREAM CHEESE * * *
Four options to choose from: Plain, Herb, Scallion, and Horseradish.
The horseradish and Scallion are duking it out for top spot, but given that cream cheese is made from local dairy farms, you're honestly set with any choice. Heck, I wouldn't even blink if someone said they wanted Herb on their Cinnamon Raisin.

Cream Cheese is available to take home too!

* * * IN-HOUSE CURED/SMOKED FISH * * *
Yet another banger.
The Lox and Trout are just amazing. Have some on your sandwich or take it home. All of it is cured in house.

Four choices, with two Gravlax options:
Lemon Dill Gravlax
Pastrami Gravlax
Beet-cured Trout
Maryland-spiced trout

* * * SPECIALS * * *
5 different options. I've tried them all, from the Basic B to the Loon, Dadwich, Purple and the Eggs on Eggs (an egg salad+tobiko mashup!)

The sandwiches are hefty, full of cream cheese and toppings.

My recommendation is the Loon if the Whitefish is available!
If no whitefish, the Wasabi Tobiko is a great substitution on both flavour, texture, and visual appeal!
