Very lovely place, great staff, got some desserts, LOOKED really good. Had high hopes, and tastes horrible, has a bad texture, and overall pretty stumped, good looks, bad taste.
Decent little bakery. Relatively expensive - but where isnt now adays? A baggie of cookies and 12 canoli was a little over $50. Cookies were pre-packaged and a little crumbly/dry. Canoli was fresh but filling was a bit bland. Would recommend trying but not my fav in the city.

We’ve been customers of LaBakeri since 1984 (40yrs) and loved all their products but especially their Black Forest Cakes with the imitation rum. Our regular order was always the 1/2 slab size for our large family for birthdays, christenings, showers, anniversaries, First Communions..etc. We always ordered 3-4 days in advance to ensure the baker could have enough time to bake the sponge cake necessary for Rum cakes. This past summer, we celebrated a very special milestone birthday with many out of town family coming in to town. On the Wednesday prior to the Sunday of the party, I phone-in an order for a full slab size or two half slabs. The lady at aka Bakeri said that all sponge cakes were already baked for the weekend (keep in mind that this Wednesday..5 days before the event) and it was too late for my order. I asked if this was a new policy telling her that in 40 years only 2-3 days were required for half-slabs. We order often so I was very surprised not to mention disappointed! So many family members look forward to that cake. I scrambled and found another bakery whose cake was actually better in that the cake was actually truer Black Forest with a much more real chocolate sponge rather than the light tan cake rendered by La Bakeri. Because if that day last summer, and that almost disastrous day without a cake, we no longer order from La Bakeri as I cannot depend on their promise to deliver a cake when required for a birthday.

So I always buy 2 pieces of rum cake for my birthday every year never miss it and of course I add a few other pastries so I recently ordered a baby shower cake from La Bakeri and once again completely satisfied above and beyond my expectations it was for my first grand baby a little girl and when I brought the cake in and opened it up it was beautiful just absolutely beautiful the handwriting on the cake was impeccable the best work I have ever seen and the guests at the shower could not believe how beautiful this cake was and they kept talking about this handwriting how it was the most beautiful writing they had ever seen it was delicious and I can't thank the staff enough for once again exceding my expectations I will never go to any other bakery even if I had to drive hours I would still always come back to this bakery so thank you to the staff for making this beautiful cake for my family and I on our special day !
