Went in tonight and ordered 3 subs, 2 turkey and 1 ham. Came to just under $30 for some really crappy subs, the sub buns were so stale obviously days old.
The other gross part is the 2 girls behind the counter that don’t wear gear nets, very slow and sloppy, won’t be going back

Ordered the famous 6 foot sub for a birthday party. It was a hit! Everyone loved it and it went a long way! There are a lot of Sub shops in Hamilton but none that have consistantly provided great subs at a grest value since 1964 ! Family owned and run here locally in Hamilton. The six foot sub is awesome. Not several small subs put together to look like 6 feet but an actual 6 foot bun baked locally here in Hamilton and then expertly built into the best tasting sub in town. So fresh and excellent quality ingredients! If you are hosting a party or event get the sub you will not regret it!

The staff is super friendly. I definitely prefer the Fennel location over any other. I've been going to this location for 25+yrs. George was a great guy. He was so patient and fun with all of us who closed Whisky Joe's. He used to give out pickles lol to keep us quiet. I would recommend this Mike's to everyone.

So my husband and I always went to Mike's Subs on Ottawa Street when we lived down the mountain close to Ottawa street the son always made the best subs ever so when we moved up the mountain we decided to start going to Mike's Subs on Fennel and Upper Ottawa but since mom retired from this location or so we've been told, the food quality has really changed the buns are no longer soft they are hard the lettuce on our subs last night tasted like refrigerator and it was a bit brownish this is the second time in a short while this has happened and for us once ok maybe it was a bad day but now twice no won't go back we always pay like 30-40 dollars on subs last night we only spent 21 dollars because of what happened the last time we wanted to see what they were like, so disappointing now what a shame.

I come here every few months to fulfil my sandwich craving. One thing I love is the way they shred the lettuce. I love thinly shredded lettuce. And the buns are usually fresh.
Today though, the young woman bathed my sub in so much oil. Even to the point I made a point to tell her that she put way too much on. But I wasn't offered a redo. So whatever. There's so much oil that my handmade wood table is now saturated in oil, and I can do an oil change on my truck with the oil left in the paper.
Still 5 stars because they don't mess up often. I believe they are a good shop and this was a one off

I've been going to this location for 20 years, and service and attitude just gets worse and worse. The people making the subs have been so rude lately. It's finally time to find another place. What a shame because this used to be the best place in Hamilton. I wish you guys luck with the way you're going.

accidentally went to the wrong mikes subs and the food was sooo mid. kid wouldn’t eat it, me and husband struggled through it. it was dry the bun was stale and the meat tasted like hotdog. staff seemed miserable at the time lol
