Mike's Subs - The Hamilton Original

Had an appointment in the area and decided to check this place out. Great prices and great subs!

Mike's Subs is, without a doubt, the best sub shop in Hamilton. Full stop. No debate needed. I've been a loyal customer since high school, and in all that time, they haven’t changed a thing—except now their debit machine takes tap (progress, right?). And honestly, they shouldn’t change a thing.

Unlike other so-called sub shops offering over-the-top, toasted, gourmet experiments, Mike’s keeps it simple and authentic. They don’t bother with 100 unnecessary options that drive up costs and waste. They focus on what they do best: making amazing subs (and gyros, too).

Their prices are refreshingly affordable, their menu is streamlined, and the quality is unbeatable. Mike’s doesn’t try to reinvent the sandwich —they just make great subs. Every. Single. Time.

Great fresh bread. Ingredients are top notch, they don't skimp on anything! I know there are other "Mike's" out there, I have tried them several times, but this is the best in the city
And open late, what more can one ask for from a sub shop. Reminds me of the big subs I used to get as a kid :)

Only place I will get a pizza sub as no other place does it as well as Mikes. Friendly faces, nice banter/small talk and always kind to me when I pop in. Atmosphere is just a typical take out sub shop.

The staff here are very rude and unprofessional. I went in to order a Mixed sub. After having a few bites, I realized there was an unusual taste to my
“ Mixed sub”
I brought it back. They told me it was a crab sub. Let me tell you I nearly puked in my mouth. Never thought they offered such a thing. So when I explained their mistake they refused to replace my sub with what I originally asked for which was a mixed sub, not a disgusting crab sub. They said this is what I asked for , and called me a liar. I would never ask for a crab sub first off I wasn’t aware they had such type sub. Secondly, I am not a liar. (They were very unprofessional, both workers behind the counter and older lady, and one male worker) refused to replace or give me a refund. I definitely would not recommend this sub place as there are other sub places that are much better not to mention fresher than Mike’s sub. Awful service

If you like classic cold cut subs, this place is amazing. Simple, fresh, and delicious. Great prices and friendly service. I like that they have default toppings so it’s easy to order. Will definitely be back!

It’s mind blowing that this place has permits, prob doesn’t, to function, no gloves used to handle food people making your sandwich have dirty all other finger nails, trash can next to where the stored the toppings this is a health hazard

Not much to say about the atmosphere other than it's a takeout sub shop. The subs are reasonably priced and you get a fair amount of meat for the price. I remember one customer complained about how the subs were getting smaller. They are no longer 12 inch subs. They are 10 inches. Check out their daily special.

Love the local businesses and would suggest trying it as many people like them, the bread was tough and becomes soggy very quickly, toppings were ok, service is poor, 2nd time going and the experience wasn’t any better.
