We had a great experience, Amanda took such good care of us - she was friendly, quick, and very efficient. Everything came out perfectly and she made sure we had everything we needed. Really appreciated her excellent service!

A friend and I had such a fantastic experience tonight. Our server Jessica was such a kind women who did an overall fantastic job! She was keen to keep an eye on her tables, accommodating, and brought such a warmhearted atmosphere to the table. The food my friend got was very good I was told and my nachos were incredible!

Jess was amazing as always! Seemed like she was the only one working, with a group of four other staff members huddled together by the bar area watching the Super Bowl instead of tending to the tables.
Food was mid at best. Service was brutal. Took over 10 minutes for a server to take our drink orders, never checked in on our table during the meal. Would not recommend and would not go back
I normally enjoy Montana's as a fun place to dine, but I was dissapointed in my recent expereince . The server was inattentive and the food was cold.
Such incredible service, amazing food, they go above and beyond for their customers.

UPDATE: I am very happy to be able to say that although my first take out experience was not as expected the General Manager was very prompt in reaching out to me after I posted this review, apologized for the all issues and provided a very acceptable monetary compensation. Thanks Brent for restoring my faith in your customer service.
I am sorry to have to be the person who would give a 0 star review if possible but that was my experience. I have been to the Hamilton Upper James location many times before and never had an experience like this. This was to be a celebration for my sons 45th birthday; it started with a call to the restaurant to try and make a reservation since the open table app did not have a timeframe that worked for my family. I was told they don't take reservations on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and my information was wrong, ok so then I said what if we come to the location and wait the response from the person on the phone was Good Luck! Being in customer service myself I was taken aback by this response so I said thank you and hung up. Since my son was set on Montana's for his birthday we decided to get take out instead that was a big mistake I ordered on line and scheduled the pick up for 6:30pm, when I arrived I noted there were many empty tables so we could have had dinner at the location. My food was not ready at the scheduled time, I had to wait 20 mins for my order and you could tell before even opening the bag it was cold. That was only the beginning we got to my 86 year old mothers house less than 10 mins away the food was stone cold and there were missing items. My sons 1/2 rack and wings was a taster rack, and the extra corn bread and lobster tail were missing which along with the extra baked potato was for my mom's dinner this left an 86 year old women with only a potato for dinner. I called right away and said I want a refund for the missing items I was told they would speak to the manager and get back to me . The next day I did not get a call from the manager but one of the workers who advised they could not refund since I ordered on line & they would give me a letter for a $20 voucher that I would have to use at the restaurant. After paying almost $120.00 for a birthday meal that was ruined, I told her this was not appropriate compensation, she then advised I would have to call back after 5pm to speak to the GM. Again not appropriate I wanted a call from the GM why should I have to chase someone to have this rectified the least they could do is give me the courtesy of calling me back...but to date crickets... I no longer want to deal with the store and would like someone in a position of authority to rectify this situation.
To recap no refund was issued and no one in a managerial position has contacted me since.

The waitress was not happy to see my son and I. The foutain drink had almost no surup in it. Had to get bottle of pop. ( waitress said what do you expect froma 35 year old machine). It was fezzing in there. Had to wear my wintercoat the whole time. Needless to say the food was cold. And I paid $130.00 for this.
Food was good but server mixed all the meat platters up, so couldn't tell what was what. Also forgot the gravy...

Dinner was great from the ease of making the reservation on line to the delicious steak cooked to perfection! We did not wait that long for our food as we thought as some reviews indicated long wait times. Or Server Jess was amazing and very attentive to our needs throughout our meal. We will definitely be back again!
The host Lila is an inspiration to all teenagers. Absolutely adored our little conversation keep up the great work,

Ordered the southern fried chicken sandwich after having a conversation with the waiter about how I love fried chicken and I want to know honestly how it compares to other places that do fried chicken right and he made it seem like it’s up there and just as good. Took one bite of the breading to taste the seasoning and there wasn’t much flavor to it, the chicken was over cooked, bun was soaked and wet, and the sandwich just wasn’t very good, think of any fast food restaurant and they do a better fried chicken sandwich than this place. You go to a sit down restaurant because you want food better than fast food and Montanas should be embarrassed to serve that knowing McDonald’s makes better chicken. After the meal the waiter came and saw I took maybe 3 bites of the sandwich and didn’t ask about it or seem to care why I didn’t eat it or offer something else which for $86 for two chicken burger meals and an appetizer… this was my last visit to Montanas or any sister restaurants under the main brands umbrella. What a waste.

We had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was outstanding. The staff were so kind and attentive — they even surprised me when they found out it was my birthday! 🎉
They also took a moment to thank my kids for their good behavior, which was such a thoughtful and sweet gesture. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great food and warm hospitality!
